A Clean Start to September!
Funded Sep 14, 2023Your donation to my classroom has impacted my students and my life tremendously! My classroom is never free, there is a class in the room every single period of the day. That's about 240 students in the room and about 4 different teachers. We all share resources and this has helped not just students, but also teachers. The paper towels have been so essential in cleaning up messes, if a drink spills or food falls on the floor. Students have been blowing through the tissues, literally, as cold season is upon us! It has been very easy for me to pull out a box of tissues and have it in the classroom for students. In addition, markets have been a game changer. All of my old markers are dried up and these markers allow my students to complete creative projects and make their work more beautiful.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022I am extremely thankful to all of you who made this project possible. My struggling readers are eating up the new books. Not only are they all being read, but my students are thoroughly enjoying them, not putting them down when the time for independent reading is over. I am thrilled these books are making an impact because students are exciting about reading! My most hesitant readers are going through the Manga books like never before. About every 2-3 days, they pick up another Manga book to devour. It's amazing to see how much they are reading in such a short amount of time.”

Funded Jan 12, 2021This iPad is instrumental in my instruction, as my laptop tends to slow down drastically when I have Google Meet open along with Nearpod and my other teaching materials for the day. This iPad will allow me to keep my Google slides up and teach remotely at the same time. I will not only use the pencil to write notes for students, but also provide teacher exemplars and models for students, show students how to annotate with Kami, a digital annotating app, which will enable students to deepen their understanding of the text. I am thrilled to receive a keyboard, as I can type so much faster with it. My students will be thrilled to have fast feedback and detailed, written annotations, which will support them during this difficult time.”

Funded Oct 27, 2020Thank you, thank you, thank you for our BRAND NEW bookshelves!!! Donors choose holds such a special place in my heart because without all of you, I would not have ANY of these amazing resources that I do. With your help, my students are going to have bookshelves that actually stand up without books holding them up. Because of COVID, janitors had to remove desks and furniture from the room, which resulted in the inevitable collapse of two of my bookshelves. This project allows me to display brand new books on durable, wooden bookshelves. I am grateful for all you do for my kids and myself. I am waiting for the day my students can browse my bookshelves and pick a book they want to read.”

Funded Jun 8, 2020I am grateful for your donations towards our classroom project. With your continuous support, we were able to fund this project and get a Cricut in the classroom as well as many materials to start us off for September! My students will be hands on and use this for classroom projects, prepping, and art. It is very important for me that my students express themselves and this printer is yet another way students will do just that! They can make shirts for fundraisers, volunteer activities, and clubs we have in the school. The possibilities are endless and I am very fortunate to have this platform and those of you who support my work!”

Diverse Literature for Rapacious Readers
Funded Jul 2, 2020I am in awe of your generosity during this time. This list was entirely all my students and they will be amazed when they see their favorite books in the classroom when we return to school. I am able to give my students brand new books because of you all, and for that, I am blessed. There are class sets of books, which will enable my students to continue reading a series and increase their reading stamina! I am overjoyed and I want to thank you so much for believing in my students and for supporting them every step of the way!”

Essentials for Coping at Home
Funded Jul 26, 2020Thank you for funding this project for my students. These supplies will be given out the first week of school to my former and current students. I ordered games, such as uno and cards so students can have something to do if we are quarantined again or continue online learning for the fall. Students in my school sometimes come in without pens and pencils, so these games will make their day. It will allow them to connect with their siblings or they can draw and color with the crayons provided. Snacks will be given out ASAP, as they expire the first week of September. These will be given out to anyone who is hungry or wants to bring home bags to their siblings. My students are so grateful for anything they receive, and I am so fortunate you all funded this for them. It will be a solace for them during these hard times.”

Funded Jun 22, 2020I want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for making this project possible. Now more than ever, I want my students to read uplifting books they can relate to. Their experiences are their own and these books will allow them to form deeper connections since they can imagine the character as themselves or someone in their lives. In addition, these books will allow students not only connect more to themselves, but their world. They will comprehend the books better and more easily because they can make these text-to-self connections. I want my students to visualize a positive self perception and these books will do just that! I truly believe books are a window into the world and I am so thankful you all support my students' reading development.”

Providing Aid at Home
Funded May 8, 2020I want to thank you for funding this project for my students. I received enough pens and pencils for every student and will use the pencil cases to make goody bags for students. I am beyond grateful for your amazing support during this time. With your help, my students will receive pens, pencils, markers to annotate, sticky notes, and books they asked for personally to read. One major focus in my classroom is independent reading and the fact my students are asking me for books makes my heart so happy. There's nothing I want more than for my kids to get every possible opportunity to succeed. Together, you are helping me to accomplish this task, despite the hardships and obstacles they face on a daily basis. I am excited to deliver these materials and I know my students will be overjoyed once they receive these materials!”
