My classroom has seven tables in which four to five students cooperatively learn in groups especially when conducting science labs. The students are grouped in such a way that there are two or three high functioning students with two lower functioning students so that those lower achieving students can get support from their peers. My students are mostly hispanic and a few african americans. The students get along and work well together and play together well. They help and support each other in the classroom. The students are good at taking turns when conducting labs and explaining things to one another for clarification of directions or concepts being taught. The students are always willing to help me in the construction or deconstruction of the materials that we use in science labs. I even have students volunteer to stay from their recess to help.
