Renew, Replace, and Replenish for the New School Year
Funded Aug 15, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions toward our "Renew, Replace, and Replenish for the New School Year" initiative. Your trust in me to request even the seemingly trivial office supplies means so much. These supplies play an essential role in making our daily classroom routines smoother and more efficient.
Thanks to the handheld vacuum and cleaning supplies, I can quickly clean shelves, tables and countertop, ensuring the kids have clean materials to work with. The upgraded thermal laminator allows me to create durable stroke order cards for the entire class to practice Chinese writing. Additionally, the variety of file folders keeps student work, reports, and records organized. Moreover, items like the pencil sharpener, Expo markers, erasers, batteries, tape, Ziploc bags, and sticky notes are vital tools that bring our activities together, enabling our students to focus on their learning. While these items may not stand out at first glance, they are the unsung heroes that form the backbone of a happy and productive school day.

Headphones for Every Student
Funded Aug 2, 2023I am writing to express my profound gratitude for your incredible support and generosity towards the "Headphones for Every Student" initiative. Your willingness to contribute has made a significant impact on the learning environment in my classroom.
Thanks to your kind donation, my students now benefit from a class set of iClever Kids Headphones. These headphones have created a conducive learning atmosphere, allowing each student to concentrate on their individual work using Chromebooks in a quiet classroom setting. Furthermore, the addition of the second Bose Wireless Speaker has greatly enhanced my teaching capabilities. The built-in microphone enables me to amplify my voice seamlessly while playing music or videos on my laptop through a high-quality sound system, eliminating any wait time associated with switching between voice amplification and laptop sound.
Digital learning transitions have become remarkably efficient, taking less than 5 minutes for all students to retrieve their Chromebooks and headphones, ready to engage in their personalized learning paths. This streamlined process has turned our dream of a seamlessly integrated technology experience into a reality. The neatly color-coded class set of headphones, each stored in a color-coded bag, has not only impressed school testing administrators but also led to requests for lending during district testing periods. These kid-friendly and easily managed headphones have not only benefited our 46 students but have also proven valuable to other classes within our school.
The importance of sound quality in aiding our young language learners cannot be overstated. The two Bose Wireless Speakers in our classroom significantly contribute to this goal. Visitors, including fellow teachers using different types of amplifiers in our school, have marveled at the high-quality and comfortable sound produced by both my voice and the content from my laptop.
Your generosity has not only enriched the learning experience for my students but has also made a positive impact on our entire school community. We are truly grateful for the state-of-the-art sound technology equipment we have received through your kindness and love.

Funded Mar 23, 2023I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for your generosity and support in contributing to the success of "Listen, Learn and Say Chinese!" Your kindness has made a significant impact on the learning experience within our classroom.
The acquisition of the Rode Wireless Microphone System and the Bose Wireless Speaker has transformed the auditory environment for my students. The clarity of sound has greatly enhanced their ability to hear both my voice and the computer, fostering a more engaging and enjoyable learning atmosphere. In contrast to the challenges faced by other educators with outdated sound systems, I am sincerely thankful for the support that has equipped our classroom with cutting-edge audio technology.
An unexpected yet invaluable outcome of this project is the positive effect on my health and well-being. With the AV system in place, I no longer need to strain my voice, especially during flu seasons. In previous years, I would typically fall ill once or twice a month, but this semester has been remarkably different. The ability to wear a mask and speak softly into the microphone, knowing that my students can still hear me clearly, has allowed me to maintain optimal health throughout the semester. This unforeseen benefit ensures that I can deliver quality instruction consistently, contributing to a healthier and more productive teaching environment.

Sensory Writing Stations-Writing Chinese in a Calm and Engaging Way
Funded Sep 3, 2022Because of your generous donation and many parent volunteers' help in putting the materials together, we are able to roll out our Chinese Sensory Writing Stations. I was so touched by seeing how excited our kids were when they first saw the station and how much attention they have put in practicing handwriting in Chinese ever since then.
After rolling out the Sensory Writing Stations a couple of weeks, I observed students' high motivation and potential in writing so I extended the station to Chinese daily journal writing. Right now, after daily practice with the Sensory Writing boxes, students have time to write sentences for the words of the day. We have had a great time hearing and reading wonderful and humorous sentences created by our talented little writers.
As the materials changed in the Sensory Writing Stations, students will have opportunities to maintain their interest in writing through different manipulatives, I am looking forward to seeing this love for writing grow in the hearts of our young scholars.”

Funded Sep 12, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. At this point of time, we are having school virtually and face-to-face depending on parent's choice. When I teach virtual, the iPad has served as a 3rd screen. I am able to login to platforms to check students work in Seesaw and/ or reinforce positive behaviors in Class Dojo without having to share my screen to class.
iPad and Apple Pen together make giving feedback on Seesaw much readable for students especially when I need to write Chinese characters.
iPad and the stand together make a perfect document camera when I have to teach from home and the school professional document camera is not available.
The most amazed benefit of these tech equipment which I did not plan when I first wrote this project is how it affects my face-to-face teaching. When teaching Chinese writing to in-person group, I now open Class Dojo on iPad for checking individual student work. I could give students immediate feedback and take a picture of the work and then post on Class Dojo to let parent see.
I will continue exploring new possibilities in using this tech equipment in teaching while making the most of it for our current needs. I am so thankful for having all these. Without your donation, I am certainly not able to start this new territory.”
