Historians in the Making!
Funded Sep 25, 2015My students have been so excited about the new books in our classroom. We have begun reading some of them as we study Colonial life. These new nonfiction picture books have helped my students to visualize what life was like a long time ago. It is hard for them to imagine a life without television or the Internet. We have also been practicing our non fiction reading skills such as finding the main idea, tackling tricky words and identifying the text structure. These books will be an essential part of our content area reading and writing unit in the spring where we will study topics we have been learning about in social studies and reading and writing about them in more detail. Thank you so much for your support of my classroom.”
