Amazing Artists and Poets at Work
Funded Jul 6, 2012Thank you so much for our wonderful poetry books. We have begun to read them and enjoy poetry. As part of the new standards children need to be exposed to much more poetry and figurative language. Poetry builds excitement about reading and writing. Having such a wide variety of books helps us to develop our literacy skills.
We will also be writing our own poetry and using these books as models to write our own poetry. By having published authors as mentors it helps us to develop our own writing skills. Thank you again for your help and support of my classroom.”

Amazing Artists and Illustrators
Funded Feb 3, 2012Thank you so much for our art supplies. We have begun to use the paper and scissors already. We have been using the bright paper to publish our work and to create our word wall. The children have been so motivated to publish and share their work with others now that they have such great colored paper. The kids love using the fancy scissors to create designs and patterns. The paper cutter allows for independence when cutting cards and paper for projects. We have been using the paper and laminating to create our word wall which helps to learn new vocabulary. The laminating helps to have the words last and be used many times. We are so thankful for your support of our classroom. We are thrilled to have all these new supplies and will be using them for a long time to come. Thank you again.”
