Oak Grove Elementary is a Title 1 school where 93% of the students receive free or reduced lunches. 71% of our population is Hispanic with different levels of English language proficiency. My kindergarten students love to read and learn. They thrive when lessons are interactive and full of visual aides. Some of them are privileged to have technology at home such as tablets or PCs. However, still a large percentage of them do not own a computer or tablet and their only access to technology is at school. In addition, most come from families where both parents work full-time and lack the resources to expose their children to technology through the public library.
