Please Help With Our Urgent Need for Printer Ink!
Funded Oct 3, 2015My students and I are grateful for your donations to our project. Your donations have helped to bring the rainbow of color to my students all in desperate need of visual supports. For the next three-five months, my students will not have to wait for their research materials to be printed out in black/white from the computer in the main office. With that being said, they have already used the printer's color and black ink to create displays.
Again, it is very important to me that my students leave their classroom with a sense of pride, knowing that their work efforts matter to us - big or small should not go unnoticed. My students are thankful.
Many many thanks for listening to my plea.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Walcott

My biggest challenge in helping to change the lives of my students is the lack there of money or resources to buy healthy snacks. My students have shared with me about being hungry. They want to become happier, healthy and mild mannered by their graduation date. We use snacks in the classroom as a part of our reward system.

Funded May 7, 2015Your donations to my project made it very possible for my students to become more money sensible and community conscious. Thank you.
My students are now planning for their forthcoming futures in a way that should have a positive financial impact on everyone around them. They were able to will use the materials requested to increase self-awareness and cultivate a passion for smart spending within their households and in their communities. Some of their past activities included visiting local business, buying and spending. My students were so excited that we are planning a second round of trips to local business, interviewing a business owner. They enjoyed interviewing a friend or family member about a time they researched a spending decision. What item were they buying? Where did they do research? What decision did they make and are they happy with the decision? Students shared with the class interview findings. My students making textual connections to characters in the selected book and then write a Reading Response graphic organizer. They continue to show growth in making smart spending decisions by conducting research and understanding opportunity cost and scarcity.(ex: cause and effect) by solving mathematical equations. They are thinking critically about becoming savers rather than spenders and have l recognize the value of 'Financial Literacy' and how instrumental in building a bright future and community. They say, "we are career and college ready." I say work in progress!
Again, this would not have been possible without the donations from you guys.
Many Thanks.”

Ms. Walcott

Funded Mar 18, 2015As soon as the denotations came into our classroom my students said, finally. What's inside!
On behalf of my students, I would like to give a very special thank you for sharing and caring. Your gifts to my students have made them very happy, more focused and healthier.
These products are incredible and have tamed the loudest to the most shyest student in my classroom. Name calling and pointing fingers in my classroom is now down by 90%. Instead of my students saying out loud, "it smells Ms. Walcott" or getting into verbal altercations about cleanliness, they are reminding me to spray or of how good the classroom smells with an air of confidence in their voices. Our words cannot express how thankful we all are to you.
What is more, my students were so kind and sweet to offer to share their c-towels and sanitary essentials' with several other classes and offices in the building, while expressing credit to you, but they do not want to share the room deodorizers (smile). It will always be great to feel that you shared my passion for my students' learning and social emotional state. And, the many ways in which learning can take place.
The donations are an important part of our reward system and behavior systems in the classroom. This project was funded with love and is fantastic. It continues to encourage focused minded students and aid in turning negative their intentions in to teachable and positive moments.
Again many thanks for showing that you care enough to share your resources and time with my students and giving them a sense of pride.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Walcott
