Distance Learning and Technology
Funded Sep 10, 2020The technology is so useful for the children to get connected to the teacher (virtual class) when the normal classes are impossible due to the dangerous disease.
The technology is helpful in reading e-books, playing math, science and literacy games. The kids learn faster and are more motivated.
The new product allowed the students to get involved with learning ABCs and counting, addition and subtraction, reading and math fluency.
Almost all the kids are excited about technology, and it is used as an indispensable part of our learning.”

Funded Dec 2, 2019Thank you so much for giving access to a variety of materials to all my students.
When the materials reached our classroom in December, everyone got super curious and excited! The students asked many questions and were eager to unpack and use the educational materials, which we did, and they were so happy and motivated!
We used manipulative and resources widely in the whole groups for explanation, workstations for exploring and everyday practice and learning through play, small groups for guided practice or deeper learning of concepts. For example, the birthday cake helped students to learn numbers and AB (chocolate-vanilla layers) patterns. The owls when stacked on top of each other were used for practicing one-on-one correspondence, number recognition, AB and ABC patterns. We learnt uppercase and lowercase letters with letter popsicles (some called them ice-cream) of different colors (and 'flavors'). We cooked soup and counted vegetables we needed to put from the cans while learning to count by 1 and sometimes by 2 and identify numbers on the cans. We made shapes with geo boards and rubber bands and then used them to make houses and different polygons. We used magnifying glass to look for the insects outside around the playground. Learning Math, Science and Language Arts was fun!”

Funded Jun 25, 2019We are very excited about all the materials that we received. The students were very amazed and curious when the boxes arrived. The students are extremely happy about the crayons we use for writing and drawing purposes. We use them to color, write letters and numbers, draw in our "creative stories" journals. We also use glue for arts and crafts as well as for Math whole group (e.g. in the picture, we were learning about positional words (geometry) and moved Pete the Cat on the picture with the schoolbus). We use markers both for workstations, where they can practice letters, shapes, numbers, and words on their own, and in the whole group during the morning message, when we write on the white boards. The stickers are very beautiful and very motivating for the students.
For the nearest future, the next steps are to use the materials in everyday whole group lessons in Language Arts and Math as well as in Science. We also have art and crafts in workstations , to vary the materials we can use for our practice, for creativity, and for our development of imagination and different skills. The students will use the materials to get ready for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebrations. They used it for the Principal appreciation month to draw special pictures for our Principal. That was a great contribution you have made into education of the young scholars!”
