I teach 3rd through 5th grade students who struggle greatly in the understanding of mathematics. My students make up just a small part of our K-8 school in Northwest Florida. Though we aren't a military school, my students are unique as the majority of them have at least one parent that is serving our country in the military. Military life has taught my students to be a strong, respectful, proud group of kids. They are challenged with the fact that they are forced to move and change schools every couple of years. Many of them have a deployed parent. But they handle it with unbelievable grace and ease. I love the sense of humor that my students have. They keep me in stitches, and though I may come into work without a smile on my face, I never leave work without a smile on my face. I owe that to them. They truly are wonderful kids!
