• Bonding on a Basic Level, Through Books! 5

  Our school does a really cool thing each and every single school year, we read one book and all of our students get a copy to keep, it happens in the spring. We all get to dive into the same text, last year it was Spring According to Humphrey, another year it was A Boy Called Bat. Each time we try to select an amazing piece of literature that will be a roller coaster ride of emotions for the kiddos, they'll laugh, they'll cry, they'll route for Ivan. This gorilla experiences the cruelty of the world when his parents and murdered and he is kidnapped from his jungle home, then sold to a mini mall where he lives in cramped and deplorable conditions not suitable for a house cat let alone a gorilla. The tale of Ivan tugs at your heart strings and when one can show empathy, they grow their compassion!”

  Our community recently lived through a category 5 hurricane, stuck over our town for 14 hours! We definitely needed something to bring us back together again! This book was just the ticket! This touching tale of compassion, empathy, and kindness also touches on social wrongs and injustice in a child friendly way. Thank you for helping our school get this amazing book into our kiddos hands, we are currently working on getting the younger version for our Kindergartners and 1st graders as well! We appreciate your kindness towards our little school family!”

• We Need Grab Match Quickies to Catch Up from Covid

  Thank you so very much once again for making my ideas spring to life within the four walls of our classroom! I literally couldn't do it without your kindness and generosity! These quickie games are so great for offering small doses of practice and intervention for my little ones who struggle with certain skills. They can practice multiplication and division, cause and effect or even compare contrast! And the really neat part is that they are having so much fun, they don't even realize they are working hard and learning!”
