I have been working on a huge event for 400 Special Education students from all over the Valley. Due to COVID the last few years our district has put the breaks on fieldtrips. So event though we work as a team on several sports we have not been able to compete at Special Olympics.
This year we are getting back on track and hosting a Special Olympics Softball Event at our school. This is the first time I have hosted as well as first time at our school.
I have gotten huge support from the Donors Chooses community and donors on the DC site. I couldn't have planned for so many students and such a huge event.
Not only our Special Education Students are going to benefit from a day of fun and Softball but our GE Sixth graders are going to play a big part. Escorting a team, keeping times and cheering for the students is only part of the jobs set up for them receiving community service hours.
Thanks and GO Eagles!
