  • Charging Up Our Learning

    Funded Aug 12, 2019

We are so excited to have a Chromebook and iPad charging cart in our classroom. It makes such a difference to have a secure place to store and charge all of our devices in our classroom. We use our devices every day so having them safe and charged really helps us stay organized and ready to learn.

Another benefit of having a locking charging cart is that is prevents students who might want to sneak in a little extra fun time on their device from having access to it. Our 8th graders are learning to be responsible and are in charge of unlocking the cart and helping the younger students get their devices.

Thank you so very much for your generosity and support. This project truly has helped our students learn and grow.”

  • Financial Literacy Fun

    Funded Apr 11, 2019

My students are in love with consumer math lessons because they are so motivated to earn money and spend it on items that they want. Thank you for helping me bring these materials to my students. I feel that it is so important that individuals who experience disabilities be financially literate so that they have less of a chance of being cheated or manipulated when they are older. This brings them independence and confidence in their skills. We truly appreciate your support and generosity. You have made a positive difference in the lives of my very deserving students.”

  • Financial Literacy Fun 2.0

    Funded Apr 25, 2019

Thank you once again for supporting my students and understanding the importance of learning financial literacy skills in a special education classroom. The kids were so thrilled to see the new items in our store and to have a chance to earn money to purchase things they want.

Being able to use a currency system to reward on task behaviors, hard work and expected behaviors is so important to students who experience Autism and communication disorders. By learning how to count money they will be less at risk to be cheated when they grow up.

Thanks so much for making a positive difference in the lives of my amazing students.”

  • Science Museum Field Trip

    Funded May 6, 2019

Our field trip to the science museum was amazing!! My students were so engaged and well behaved when while they learned about science concepts and how Pixar movies are made at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. It was such so wonderful to see all of my kids interacting with the exhibits, using great social skills and asking great questions. It is something we hope to do in the future because it was so successful.

Thank you so very much for your generosity and kindness. You have truly made a positive difference in the lives of my very deserving students.”

  • We're Desperate For Ink!

    Funded Mar 5, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity and support. We truly were desperate for color ink and are so very fortunate that we can print fun, interactive activities that students will be engaged in. I also print out visual supports such as calming choices, expected behaviors and communication prompts. The students in my class really benefit from the pop of color.

Please know that we appreciate your donation and support. You have made such a positive difference in the lives of my deserving students.”

  • Learning the Secret to Social Skills

    Funded Jan 27, 2019

I LOVE this new social skills curriculum!!! I can't believe how engaged my students are in learning new skills to use at school, home and in the community by watching these age appropriate "webisodes." Having access to quality lessons that allow my kids to see the reactions of others when someone displays an "unexpected" behavior makes a world of difference. For individuals that experience autism, social skills need to be explicitly taught and having a fun and interactive way to learn is so important.

Thank you so very much for your support and generosity. Please know that you have made a positive difference in the lives of my very deserving students.”

  • Watching Our Lessons

    Funded Feb 18, 2019

This new, large screen TV has been such a wonderful addition to our classroom. We've been able to remove our projector and no longer have cords running between the desks and screen. Now all students can see the lessons I project from my computer or an iPad. There are so many ways we use this during the day. I have a website I use that shows the time of day and a timer that will signal our next transition. It really helps the students to have a visual representation of when we will be changing to another activity. I'm also saving paper because instead of using a document camera to project writing tasks, I just do it on the computer or take a picture and use an iPad to show it on the TV screen.

Thank you so very much for helping me provide this new piece of technology to my students. One students screamed excitedly when he saw the big box and said "For Daddy!! A new TV for Daddy!!!" It was priceless. I truly appreciate your generosity and please know that you've made a positive difference in the lives of my amazing students.”

  • Back To Basics

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

Thanks to your generosity and support our classroom is looking great! We used the bulletin board rolls and border to create a farmhouse theme throughout the room. This makes such a difference to my students to have a calm and clutter free room. With the use of the paper trays with lids we've been able to provide an area that students can access materials without seeing a jumbled mess of papers and supplies. Finally with the card stock and Velcro I've been able to make academic activities that are individualized for each student. They love having materials that help them learn.

Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of my wonderful students.”

  • Laundering Life Skills Lessons

    Funded Jan 4, 2019

We love our new washer and dryer! It replaced units that were from the early 1970s and were on their very last legs. Our students are now washing towels for all the science teachers in our building. They are learning a very important life skill which they will use the rest of their lives. The science teachers no longer have to bring bags of towels home to wash which is great for them. We've offered to launder clothes for any students who don't have access at home but haven't had the opportunity yet.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. You have truly made a positive difference in our school community.”

  • Classroom Store For Financial Literacy

    Funded Sep 8, 2018

My students were so excited to see our new classroom store! Your kindness and generosity has made such a difference in the lives of my students. They are learning consumer math skills which is so important to individuals who experience disabilities. They earn money in class for doing jobs, working hard and being kind to others. At the end of the month they count their money and make a purchase in our store.

In December we went on a field trip to buy gifts for families and purchase lunch at a pizza restaurant. Each student used the next dollar up strategy to pay for their purchases and it was so wonderful to see. Thank you so very much for helping me teach my students the importance of knowing how to count and use money.”
