• Building Lifelong Readers: Book Baggies for Success!

  Thank you so much for your support in providing my students with durable book baggies! These baggies have completely transformed how we engage with reading in our classroom.

  Each Thursday morning, our classroom turns into a cozy coffee shop, where students "go book shopping" and select new books to read for the week. This special time has made independent reading even more exciting, giving students a sense of ownership and choice in their learning. With their new book baggies, they can safely store and carry their books, making it easier to keep track of their reading materials.

  The excitement in the room on Thursday mornings is incredible! Students eagerly browse our classroom library, trade recommendations with their classmates, and carefully pack their book baggies with stories they can't wait to dive into. This routine has not only strengthened their love of reading but has also built a sense of independence and responsibility.

• Celebrating Black History Through Art and Stories!

  Thank you so much for your support in bringing these amazing materials to our classroom! Because of your generosity, my students now have access to engaging books and hands-on art supplies that are making a real impact on their learning.

  The Black History Books and The Story of Black History Box Set have been incredible resources, sparking curiosity and important discussions about influential African American artists, athletes, politicians, and more. Students have been excited to explore these stories, connecting them to our lessons and their own lives. These books have truly brought Black history to life in our classroom.

  In addition to reading, the Crayola paintbrushes and spill-proof paints have given students a creative way to express what they're learning. One of the highlights has been studying Jacob Lawrence and creating artwork inspired by his unique storytelling style. Students learned about the meaning behind his art—both in his time and today—gaining a deeper understanding of how art can tell powerful stories about history, struggle, and resilience.
