  • Lit Up for Literacy

    The materials that you donated have made a great impact on me and my students.

    First, I am able to do less printing. This saves paper and ink.

    Second, my students were very excited as I opened the boxes and showed them the new materials. These materials are reaching 63 students- the entire 1st grade.

    My students have started to use these materials in their phonics station. They enjoy decoding, reading and build their fluency and comprehension. These materials are very sensory, and the students love them.

    I am truly grateful for all your help. Your generosity has made dreams come true, skills being developed on, and career choices being made. My students thoroughly enjoy all their materials. They love to build things. As they do that they are able to be creative. They solve problems and learn to be patient. As they fail with some challenges, they try again. The materials have sparked curiousity. I have showed them some career choices that uses the same skills they are learning. They were indeed surprised to know that they could have fun in the future as they haven't seen that being portrayed around them.

  • Numerate and Literate Young Buds

    My students are elated about the new addition to their class mini library. Not only do they benefit from these books, but they sure make our classroom look conducive. My students especially those who are English language learners are enjoying the colorful multi-leveled books that were made available to them. They love the titles, the pictures, the photos, the plots, and the real information in the books. My students love reading and enjoy doing so in small groups with me. They enjoy the conversation we have. The books that you helped us to have allowed my students to learn many comprehension skills. Even though this year was very hard, my students have grown tremendously all because of you. Thank you for your help and motivation.”

    My students really benefited from the resources they got. It was made possible because of you. They find reading fun and enjoy the process. They are eager to learn new words and are using the skills they learn to figure words when they read. T

    The other materials which they received really caused my classroom to look and feel more conducive and comfortable. They are able to move to another location when they feel tired and sit on a stool or they might just want to work in a different space. Some of my students enjoy moving while learning and these resources came in handy.

It is my view that catering to all learning needs create a healthy classroom, where children learn and are developed holistically. As an advocate for social distancing, the foot dispenser will allow for students to limit touching surfaces. The books selected will create a print rich class and will help me take students from one reading level to the next. The other resources selected will aid proper organization of students resources. They will not be touching each other's resources and they will be labeled and be divided. The balls will be used by students who learn and maintain focus by moving.
