  • Sing Loud, Sing Proud!

    Funded May 6, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my music room and students. I am so excited to give them a little push of confidence by using their voices for speaking and singing. These microphones are going to give them that energized boost of confidence as they will now want to perform and have a chance to hear their voices in the speakers.”

    Mrs. Barnes

  • Hand Drum, Hand Drum, We Will Play

    Funded May 6, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting my music classroom by helping me to get my young and excited students more drums so they don't have to wait as long in between turns to play. My kindergartners are going to be so thrilled to see the colorful and fun drums.”

  • Puppets for Play!

    Funded May 6, 2025

Thank you so much for donating to my music room and giving my students more puppets for creative play and performaces. They are going to love these "animals" (or should I say creatures) so much. Puppets always give students confidence to perform and I enjoy seeing their confidence shine through puppet play.”

  • Turn the Page with Percussion

    Funded Jan 12, 2025

Thank you so much for helping me get a bell tree for my students- they are enthralled! They absolutely love the shiny bells and how they are stacked one on top of the other. It's a very different instrument than any that we have in our percussion cabinet. It has been fun seeing their smiles and hearing the "ooo"s and "ahh"s from them all when I first hold it up and then demonstrate the sound and technique of playing. We have been enjoying using the bell tree with our literacy activities. It is very rewarding to hear the chiming sound every time we turn the page in a book. :-) Thank you, again, for your support.”

    With gratitude,

  • Fans of Music and Movement

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation to my music classroom. My students absolutely love the new fan scarves you sent us! They were in awe the first time I took them out for an activity. We learned a song to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. day that was so beautiful. In the song video a rainbow surrounded the earth, so we created an earth out of students and encircled them with the beautiful rainbow scarves. We added some blue/white ones for the sky and two students portrayed the mountain form the song using the black/grey/white scarves. Adding the flowing color with the beautiful melody and lyrics was a very fulfilling experience for my students. Moving to the music and embracing the spirit of "I have a dream" using props to visually see the message come to life was amazing. I am so looking forward to incorporating these fan scarves into more musical activities in the future. Thank you again for supporting my music program.”

  • Color Me, See Me

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

Thank you so very much for bringing skin-toned crayons, markers and pencils to my music room. My students were so pleased to be able to color with a shade that represents their skin tone and accurately depicts their heritage. We just completed a project in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. We discussed the power of words and music in place of violence to bring people together. Young students chose a shade for themselves and other friends to show how singing together can bring people together. Older students reviewed their rhythm note labels for a peace picture that centered around a hand in a natural tone. Thank you again for bringing these much-needed skin-toned shades to my classroom for our special projects in music and humanity.”

    Mrs. Barnes

  • Hold Me Up!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Thank you so much for contributing to my project to support my students' musical interests. We have been working on using a wind instrument and I will soon be ready to move on to the string family. I will be introducing the ukeleles and my students are going to be so excited.

I am so thankful that we will now have straps available for those students who need a little more support to hold up the instrument while they are learning new skills that can at times feel overwhelming.

    Your donation is greatly appreciated.”

  • Ukelele Orchestra!

    Funded Nov 5, 2023

Thank you so much for the two new ukeleles for my classroom. The baritone and bass sizes are amazing to the students! They were so very excited to open the giant boxes and discover what was inside.

We will be adding these lower sounding instruments to our class set of sopranos to build our ukelele orchestra. My students are enjoying the music making time together and they thrive in instrument activities where they get to use their hands to create music.

Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barnes

  • Bingo-Bango-Bongo, Blue!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

My students LOVED seeing the brand new bongos for the first time. The blue color is beautiful and who doesn't love playing drums? We are all so thankful for your generous donation to our music room.

My program includes many lesson that utilize drums and percussion instruments of all types. Young children have an innate desire to bang on things and I turn that banging into enjoyable music through games, activities and ensemble pieces.

We are very excited to have more options for drum based lessons to give more students at one time a chance to play. Thank you for making our day!”

  • Teaching Music to Include ALL Students

    Funded Jan 27, 2023

Last year was a tough transition for me at a new school and with new students, especially the autism classes who attend music along with gen ed classes. I was struggling to find a balance between their needs and the lesson I had prepared.

In addition to taking some workshops, I am grateful for the resource I received. The suggestions in the book and the guidance of ways to incorporate special needs children has been invaluable.

I am so pleased that with the help of the aides, we have many autism students participating in my lessons for more activities and for longer periods of time. Some of them have been doing a great job participating fully for the entire music lesson!

It makes my heart so happy to see their smiles during our activities and to see them following the musical expectations of the lesson. Thank you for helping to bring support and joy to my room, both for me and the aides, but most importantly, for the students.”
