The Wellness Warriors' Garden of Growth
Funded May 5, 2025From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your generous donation! It brings me so much joy to know that I will be able to provide my Wellness Warrior Club with the opportunity to plant flowers around the school as a symbol of new beginnings and growth. This will be such an amazing kick off to the new school year. Again, I these opportunities would not be possible without your support. So thankful for you!!!”

Funded Feb 5, 2025Funding the supplies for Compassionate Collaborators has given me endless opportunities to provide my online students with tangible items to support collaborative learning experiences when they come to our physical classroom for small group instruction. Because my students are primarily online, hands-on learning experiences are often overlooked. My goal was to maximize the time we have when they are together in the building. When students pair academic learning with physical movement they are more likely to retain what they are learning. It also helps with the social aspect of working together because it gives students something tangible to do.
They loved working together using the large chart paper and post it notes. What I loved about it is it gave them a reason to move around the room and talk together. When you structure learning opportunities like this students are more likely to engage. The dry erase pockets and markers were perfect for identifying and grouping ideas. I'm already thinking of all the ways I will utilize these materials over the years to come.
With these supplies I am able to use them over the next several years to support collaborative learning experiences and teach my students how to interact with each other. I also have another project that is live now which is also focused on providing students tangible resources to plant flowers around our school.”

Creating Calming Kits
Funded Sep 18, 2024Funding the supplies for the Calming Kits has given me the opportunity to provide my students with tangible items as a reward for going above and beyond in demonstrating CORE (civility, order, respect and excellence) in the classroom. Students doing the right thing often get overlooked so these kits have been the perfect way to help me show kids that I see them making good choices everyday. I designed these kits to strategically help provide students provide a break in their day when they are feeling anxious or stressed.
My students operate on a hybrid learning model which means they can attend a couple hours of in person learning each week. It was wonderful to be able to pass out the kits when students were here in person knowing they could take them home to use. The Calming Kits along with the healthy snacks really help keep students motivated and engaged in learning when they are in the building for instruction. I am so thankful for donors like you who have funded my project. I am continually asking students for ideas on what they need and what interests them so I can continue to provide students with tangible resources that they are interested in.
I am looking forward to the new year which will usher in new beginnings. It is my passion to support my students in setting goals, regulating their emotions and prioritizing mental wellness. Thank you again for funding this project.”

Funded Aug 12, 2024My heart is overflowing with gratitude for funding the WOA Wellness Warriors Project. This project has allowed me to start a virtual wellness club to promote mental and physical wellness for our online learners. This grant provided the funding for each student to receive an exercise mat, water bottle, journal and fitness tracker. During our club meeting we participate in a variety of activities that support mental and physical wellness. Each meeting revolves around a specific theme providing students with tangible takeaways to apply to their own lives. Finally, we wrap up our meeting with a physical wellness activity. I have loved sharing my excitement for mental and physical wellness with my students. In addition to our regular meetings, the club hosts a Wellness Warrior Wednesday session. This is a 10 minute brain break for any online student to join zoom and participate in a short physical fitness activity. I can see such a wonderful online community of Wellness Warriors blooming!
When I shared with students that as club members they would receive an exercise mat, water bottle, journal and fitness tracker they were so surprised. They could not believe these supplies were generously provided to them. Students were able to come into the building to pick up the supplies and even participate in a short cardio activity when they were here. I loved seeing the big smiles and excitement on their faces when they share with me how many steps they have taken that day, the goals they are working towards or what exercise they tried.
As we bring in the new year, we are going to turn our attention on how we can bring more mental and physical wellness awareness to our school and community with even more opportunities to get involved!
Thank you so much for funding this project! It has sparked joy for mental and physical wellness in my students. My passion for supporting mental and physical wellness will only continue to grow and spread with the WOA Wellness Warriors.”
