  • Calculators for Decathletes!

    Funded Jul 24, 2018

First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. These calculators will go a long way towards helping my team be successful in all its Academic Decathlon endeavors. When I showed my team the calculators, they were extremely excited. It is heartwarming to know that there are people who still believe in investing in education.

The first way this will help the squad is by having the best technology possible. My team asked for these calculators and you delivered. It also shows prospective Decathletes that we are serious about winning.

    Once again, many thank yous.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stuart

  • Basic Supplies for High School Students

    Funded Jul 10, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation of supplies for my students. All too often, students are unable to participate in class activities due to not having the tools needed and it can become prohibitively expensive for us teachers to buy supplies for each and every student. Thanks to your generosity, each of my students will have a folder, a highlighter and a pencil this school year.

My students are grateful for these supplies. Students want to do well in a class. The folders will help the students stay organized, the highlighters will help with vocabulary activities and the pencils will help them complete assignments.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stuart

  • Books For Lively Academic Decathletes

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

First of all, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for copies of the play "Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead". It truly means a lot to me to see people take a lively interest in literacy and my students doing well at next years Academic Decathlon competition. Exposure to different types of literature makes students more rounded.

As this play is the required reading for the 2018/2019 Academic Decathlon, having access will make a huge difference. Students will read this play along with "Hamlet".

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stuart

  • Calculators for Academic Decathletes

    Funded Feb 26, 2018

First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the calculators. These calculators will allow underclassmen, who normally do not receive school issued calculators, to have their own calculators. With Math in the Academic Decathlon, having access to a calculator will help a students score improve exponentially. As our program grows, the needs of the program will grow as well. Having these extra materials will be of much help to the students in ensuring that each and every student has an opportunity to compete.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stuart

  • Atlases for LE Students

    Funded Dec 29, 2017

Thank you for the World Geography Atlases. These atlases make a huge difference in my classroom. The atlases are full of dynamic information, which serves as a strong and interactive print resource in my classroom. The information, from the maps to the graphs and photos are great learning tools for my students. In addition, the curriculum that comes with the atlas is AWESOME. My students truly enjoy the lessons as they bring geography to life and show my students that geography is not just maps but it is the world around us. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Cold Weather Gear

    Funded Jan 5, 2018

This project has been a smashing success. My students, many of whom have never experienced freezing temperatures, are now able to walk home a little warmer. Being warm allows these students to stay in school a bit longer. The warm weather gear is also helping these students stay in school as they are no longer as sick. Thank You for your kindness. The gloves are especially great as they are made for texting, which is a favorite past time of all teenagers. They can be warm and text. The handwarmers are great and have been requested by more students. Thank You.”

  • Brain Food For Decathletes And Their Families

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

Thank you for the kind donation. My Decathletes appreciated the water and the Kind bars. My Academic Decathlon, or ACADECA, team is a group of hard working and motivated students. They work hard and study hard. Because of this, they need nourishment. The Kind bars and water have helped during practices and events. Many of my ACADECA students do not take lunch because they wish to take extra Advanced Placement classes. These snacks go a long way in helping them. Thank you for your help and your assistance. We are grateful for your kindness.”

  • Atlas for ELLs

    Funded Feb 28, 2017

First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation. It truly means a lot to me when people still value the importance of English Language Instruction and the education of our students. The first thing that amazed my students was the newness and crispness of these books. They are colorful and the maps truly pop in the atlases. Not only are they atlases, but they come with a curriculum in which I can teach them to analyze maps for weather patterns, border changes and the physical world around us. I am able to integrate Math and Science into my Social Studies curriculum more seamlessly.

In my classroom, reading is a huge part of the curriculum. Reading is the number one way a person can build their English language skills. We do lots of primary and secondary source readings. We also do lots of vocabulary building exercises in class. The atlases are another secondary source that students can use to supplement their instruction. It makes it possible for students to see the areas we are learning about.

As mentioned previously, my students were amazed by the crispness and newness of these atlases. They are thorough in presenting both the USA and the world to them. It makes learning more diverse as I am able to bring new methods into the classroom. Thank you for the atlases. they have already made a big impact on my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stuart

My students enjoy learning about places in the world. In class, we have covered all corners of the globe in my World History class thus far this year. However, some students like to learn at their own pace. I am hoping that a class set of atlases for my students, that they are able to consult individually at any time throughout the lesson will help them see the world more clearly. With a child's own atlas, the student can see where Prussia was located and look at the geography of Prussia on their own. A child can use the atlas and see why Russia has been proactive throughout history in trying to acquire land. My whole life, I have always been fascinated by maps. A piece of paper explains so much as to the why's of history. Handing a child an atlas will help me explain the why's and help them see the why's on a map.
