Fun Flexible Seating
Funded Feb 28, 2019As you can see in my pictures, Big Joe is the place to be in my class! The students are loving having the option to sit in a cozy corner and get there 20 minutes of reading in!
You could hear the excitement building the day I rolled the large box across the yard. Students from across the yard were running to me because they knew some new seating was coming their way! You made not only my day but theirs as well - some students are even asking to give up their recess to get some extra reading practice in!
Thank you once again for your generosity!”

Funded Dec 14, 2018Thank you so much for donating to this project! I was really excited to see what Power My Learning was all about. The web training was extremely helpful and engaging.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control I was unable to fully execute the project. My current school lacks parental involvement and many of our students do have computers at home. I pleaded with parents to use their smartphones for the lessons but it was wasn't a feasible project at this time.
I am so sorry that I do not more positive news for you all but I will definitely keep the program in mind for future use.”

Funded Aug 24, 2018What a delight it is to see students, especially girls, excited about STEAM! Students have been having a great time exploring the projects and I have even seen sworn enemies work together with ease because of these kits!
The students were filled with glee upon receiving the box that our materials were here. More excitement grew as we opened the box during my first group. The students were participating more than usual just for a chance to get to explore the box first. Unfortunately the first week, we couldn't get through all our lessons so I made them a compromise that I would open the room during their recess if they wanted to come back. Well - I had to make a schedule to allow access for all but what a wonderful problem to have! The students are so eager to give up free time to continue learning - it warms my heart!
Next steps are to start integrating the STEAM lessons into my intervention groups. Thank you again for your generosity and for believing in the power of educating our next generation!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Hats off to Ripple for not only making my project come to life but bringing smiles to my students!! As a teacher where students have very little resources at home, I want to make their educational experience rich in positive experiences. With your donation of flexible seating arrangements, my students can now focus on closing the achievement gap rather than fear they will get in trouble due to not being able to sit in traditional seats. The bounce bands have given an outlet for my student's extra energy and increased their ability to focus at the lessons at hand.
The addition of 2 iPads allow students to work independently reviewing taught standards in a fun and engaging way. This freedom allows me to then have more 1 on 1 time with those students who struggle the most. I even have students stopping by during their breaks for extra practice on the iPads!
Thank you so much for funding such fun items such as the WikkiStix! For struggling students who need reinforcement of letter formation these cards and sticks are a must. A couple of days and I already see a great improvement in letter recognition and formation in their work.
I hope you know how much we all appreciate your generosity and I will forever be grateful for the Best Day Ever - when you flash funded the ENTIRE site!”

Funded Oct 17, 2016The new color printer has brought live back into our classroom! We are so grateful for such a generous donation. We are using it to reward students as they move up levels in their reading program, lexia. Before I was finding them in the trash because a black, grey and white certificate was not very motivating but now I am seeing students walk out the door excited to show it off!
We are also incorporating more fun writing assignments, such as the Wordle star - where students create word clouds that represent them and colorful poster boards of the exciting science topics we have covered.
These fun activities could not be a reality without the generous support of donors like you! Thank you once again.”

Technology to the Rescue
Funded Oct 30, 2015Once again thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. My students enjoyed using our brand new monitor to enhance their learning. Since we are in the middle of our colonial unit, it is being used as a new research station. They even stay in at recess to use it! And as always the ink pack is a lifesaver and has come in handy to create our colonial brochures.
The individual CD players are a big hit too! They have started a fire to read more complicated text/chapter books and you are seeing life long readers in the making.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and appreciate your contribution.”

Funded Jun 22, 2015Thank you so much for believing in me to pursue my National Board Certification! Improve Our Technological Literacy Through Science Inquiry
Funded Sep 15, 2014Wow - you made our year with your FLASH FUNDING! I was so touched by your generosity that I couldn't contain my tears when I shared the news with my students. They couldn't believe that we would finally have working technology in our room! Many of my students are begging to stay in for recess so they can spend extra time on all the educational apps I have been able to download. You have made learning fun for them and for that I am eternally grateful!
It's hard to come in full of energy and enthusiasm to teach everyday but you guys are making it a bit easier for me this year because I truly feel supported this year! These new technology pieces are being used as center activities where I can track student success but most importantly it gives me the chance to work with other struggling students and make all our futures brighter!
We are touched by your massive generosity to LA schools & thank you for the helping hand!”

Help Fight Plagiarism - We Need a Printer!
Funded Aug 22, 2014I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and from my student's hearts for your generosity! The students were excited to see the boxes delivered and for the printer to finally be set up!
We are looking forward to putting it to work soon as we being with our first unit on Culture. Right now the students are busy drafting their personal narratives highlighting their favorite cultural tradition. Your generosity will allow my emerging writers to PUBLISH their works just like real writers do and hopefully I can create a hardcover classroom book to add to our library.
Thank you again for inspiring me to be the best teacher I can and for giving my students the technology they so greatly needed!”
