  • Magnificent Mathematicians

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Our students are very grateful to have these manipulatives to give them a more tactile experience with learning about fractions. They are able to manipulate the items and use them to demonstrate real life experiences. The number grids help them to learn about arrays, while the number bonds help them to see the relationship between multiplication and division.

All of the manipulatives are so beneficial to all learners but especially our students with disabilities who require more support. They create a learner friendly environment where students are excited to learn math.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

  • Students Succeed With STEM

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

The students in my class love the new resources from the STEM kits! These kits are providing them with opportunities to use various materials they would not have previously used, and explore with their hands and minds. When the students first saw the kits they were immediately intrigued by the different materials within the kit. Providing them with time to explore the kits was essential as they would not have been able to focus for the rest of the day without that opportunity!

We are looking forward to continuing our exploration through STEM and engaging our minds with various activities that we find and come up with on our own!”

  • Books, Books, Books!

    Funded May 29, 2020

These new texts are a hit in our classroom! Students are fully engaged in reading these new, exciting texts. They are high interest texts that the students have an interest in reading.

Coming from a first grade classroom two years ago, we did not have many chapter books for our new second graders to read. These new books are a huge help to continue the growth our students have already made in reading.

The students, and teachers as well, appreciate the donations to help our class be more successful in their literacy endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

  • Progressive Printing

    Funded Feb 11, 2018

Our students have benefited greatly from having an easily accessible color printer in our classroom. Many of our students come from a home where resources are limited. A printer allows us to print books and worksheets to send hoe to the children to ensure that their learning continues after they leave the classroom. Having the printer, allows us to print at the last minute or during a lesson if we realize a student may benefit from differentiated instruction, or having sentence frames/ starters.

The students in our classroom enjoy having work pages printed in color. They get excited when they ask us if we can print something for them and we can immediately. Without the printer we would have to continuously leave the classroom to get necessary materials. Having the printer has not only benefited our students but also us as educators.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

All students benefit from having multiple methods of instruction readily available to them at all times. This includes the students in my room. Headphones and a color printer will help students achieve their best self by having access to multiple methods of instruction. By having access to a color printer, the students in the class, especially those who are ESL will have visuals and pictures readily available to them when learning new words or reading books that have unfamiliar words in them. The headphones will allow students to work on the computer on educational programs without distracting children who are working at their desks.
