I have a wonderful class of 28 students. These students are residents at one of the West side schools and are in great need of supplies. Unfortunately, many of the parents at my school are unable to buy basic school supplies for their students and the school that I currently work at lacks support for teachers to be able to print our writing template out. Lucy Calkins has an exceptional writing program but teachers are expected to use a printer to copy and print the writing templates. Our school does not provide us with this kind of assistance. More than often, I go to a printing service to print out most of my copies, which is getting more expensive than what I am able to afford. My second grade students would be so excited to see our Writing Center fully loaded and rich in supplies.
