Book Bins for Tools!
Funded May 24, 2019elping students build their stamina for reading is important. Students can track their stamina daily using a bar graph. Students will set a goal, track their stamina and see if they reached their goal daily. If they didn't they'll be able to reflect to see what they can work on.
Another activity is incorporating various types of reading such as partnership reading, independent reading, read aloud, and book clubs. This can keep students engaged. Teachers can also allow them to read in a space of their choice so they feel comfortable. Partnerships and book clubs can set reasonable goals together. This can help them motivate each other to push their reading stamina.”

Funded May 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students love all the hands-on materials they get to learn with. This makes the learning in my classroom more engaging and fun. Students are using the materials to be able to work in groups and learn from one another. All students want to participate and play with the materials. When I first showed my students the materials they were so excited and happy. They couldn't wait to play with it.
My next steps is for students to be able to work together in pairs or in groups working on tasks.”

Funded May 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation. Using those texts I teach students how to read fluently by sounding out words and hearing me read or their peers read. The books also teach my students about different topics that they can relate to topics of interest. I also teach various skills using the books such as main idea and key details, retelling a story using beginning, middle, and end. I also teach summarizing and theme (lesson learned), compare/contrast, character traits/feelings. These are all the skills students need to know in third grade.
In my classroom because of your generous donation I am able to put students in groups based on their reading levels. My students love the books and they have great discussions in their groups using the book talk protocol.”

Funded May 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations! Thanks to you I am able to expose my students with disabilities to many books that are on their reading level. My students are in third grade but read on a Kindergarten level. This donation will help me boost my students reading level. This will also give my students an opportunity to read in a group and learn from other students.
My students were so excited and happy to receive all those books and read about things that interest them.
My next steps is for my students to become fluent readers.”

Funded May 3, 2019My students are working in their groups. Each student has a role to play. The time keeper loves his/her job as they get to use the big timer and tell other students how much time is left to complete the task.
This also helps my students with disabilities as they take awhile to move from each task and routine. The timer helps them manage their time more effectively.
My students were so happy and excited to receive the timers as it makes our station groups more fun and engaging.
My next steps are for students to be able to lead instruction and guide me in terms of what they want to learn. What are their interests. I will provide them with the tools. Thank you for your kind donation, because of you I am able to provide more hands-on group work to my students. All students have a role to play in the classroom.”

Making a ToolKit
Funded Dec 31, 2018Using devices like a computer, tablet, or other type of technology in the classroom can help turn subjects into interactive and fun activities. It also meets all student needs and learning styles as well as prepare them for the future. Technology transforms the learning experience. Students have access to an incredible amount of new opportunities. Therefore, technology empowers students to be more creative and be more connected. New technology has charged how we learn today. It also promotes collaboration amongst students.
My students love the new product as I use the laminator to make personalized anchor charts for all my students. This creates an atmosphere for independent learning. This also helps the independent station groups complete the agenda as they look at the toolkit as a resource. The chair rubber-bands help my students with disabilities to sit and focus at the task at hand. My students grades and group work is improving. I am also able to laminate all vocabulary words and other important anchor charts to put up around the classroom.
My students love the new resources as their grades and class participation has improved tremendously.”
