Books Needed!
Funded Dec 12, 2023On behalf of myself and my students, I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of books to our classroom. Your thoughtful contribution will undoubtedly enrich the learning experiences of our students for years to come.
Your support means more than just the books themselves; it signifies a commitment to education and a belief in the power of literacy. With your donation, we can explore new worlds, gain insight into different cultures, and foster a love for reading that will extend far beyond the classroom walls. Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity.
Sincerely,”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kagzanova

Funded Sep 7, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. When the students first walked in on the first day of school they all said how gorgeous and decorated and organized the classroom was. They were complimenting many bulletin boards. Students haven't been in school for over a year so this was a very big surprise for them. They were so excited with big smiles on their faces.
Not only do classroom decorations help to create a more engaging and welcoming atmosphere for your new pupils, they have other functions as ways of engaging pupils with other aspects of school life. Student-created displays of school policies are a great way to get children to remember the rules.
Displays around time, the weather, phonics or maths functions can help to support children when they are working independently. Displaying of student's best work helps to build confidence and in some pupils may encourage a better quality of penmanship or neatness!”

Funded Apr 17, 2021I so appreciate your gesture of sending me this lovely gift. Thank you so much for your generosity. These books will help my students become better readers. Reading is important because it develops our thoughts, gives us endless knowledge and lessons while keeping our minds active. Books can hold and keep all kinds of information, stories, thoughts and feelings unlike anything else in this world. The importance of a book to help us learn and understand things cannot be underestimated. Most people know from experience that reading is a great form of entertainment, but what you and those other people might not realease is that reading can help lower stress levels.”

Funded Dec 23, 2020These materials will make a difference in my students learning because students, especially students with disabilities, learn best through hands-on learning. Students need to experience and learn through their 5 senses. This makes learning more meaningful and they are more likely to remember what they learned. This also makes learning more interesting. These hands-on materials are important as it helps students learn their math facts: multiplication, division, subtraction, and addition in a fun way. The reading materials will help them learn reading skills in a fun way. Students also get to learn and work in pairs and in groups. This will be a perfect opportunity for students to learn concepts hands on!”

Funded Aug 9, 2020Reading books are so important to the students. It has so many benefits. My students come from low-income families where they can't afford books. They do not have exposure to books and they are English language learners and students with disabilities. These books will be a tremendous help to my students. I will test my students reading level and then use the books that are on their level or 1 level above their independent level. Since my students are English Language learners I will focus on phonics and teaching students the rules of the English language. Once students become readers I will focus on reading comprehension skills. In third grade students need to master the skill of answering questions and using supporting details to support their answer. Thank you so much again for your generousity and support.”

Funded Mar 4, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. Especially during the hard times as now that I am teaching remotely. These guided reading books are even more helpful as I am able to read and scan the books online (google classroom tool) for my students to read. The students are assigned their reading level and they read within their groups. Everyday I work with a different group working on skills they need help in. Each level has skills students need to master. I assess students and then create guided reading lessons.
In my reading block I first teach a skill by modeling the read aloud and the use of the graphic organizer. Then students try practicing the skill using their independent reading books. I assess their learning. I do 2 guided reading groups a day!
Again thank you so much for the generous donation!”

Funded Jul 12, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation. Using those texts I teach students how to read fluently by sounding out words and hearing me read or their peers read. The books also teach my students about different topics that they can relate to topics of interest. I also teach various skills using the books such as main idea and key details, retelling a story using beginning, middle, and end. I also teach summarizing and theme (lesson learned), compare/contrast, character traits/feelings. These are all the skills students need to know in third grade.
In my classroom because of your generous donation I am able to put students in groups based on their reading levels. My students love the books and they have great discussions in their groups using the book talk protocol.”
