Captivating Creative Learners with Chromebooks

We are immensely grateful for your donation! Your generosity will have a powerful impact on our classroom. In our 21st century world, understanding and utilizing technology is imperative. Many of our students do not have access to technology in their home for educational purposes. They do not know how to correctly research information or publish a written piece. With your donation, our class will learn vital technological skills to aid them in becoming college ready.

Since we have received our Chromebooks, the students have utilized science simulations to discover how electrical energy systems work and what electrical converters produce the most energy. They have researched our New York State geography to better understand how each region of our state compares to their home in New York City. Soon, the class will begin publishing their own research essays and poetry. We have exciting plans to teach the students about coding and how this growing skill will impact their future careers.

The class is most excited to have dedicated Chromebooks to our classroom, to research at will. Most of our students are English Language Learners and have many questions about vocabulary and how things work. They are excited to be able to research answers and find visual aids. The students often write down their questions and unfamiliar vocabulary throughout the day, excited for their turn to research.”
