  • Creativity Into 3D Reality

    Funded Jun 13, 2024

Thank you for your help in getting a 3D printer into my classroom. It is indescribable how my students and I are excited to have this new technology incorporated into science centers. Students in third and fourth grade are learning about the 3D designing and how 3D printing works.

Students have heard about 3D printers, but some have not seen one in person. They get so excited when something is printing and always want to see what it is once it is completed. In my classroom we do 3D designing contests, we create fidgets for students who need them, and I try to support teachers in other classrooms with things they may need to help support their students.

Students are having new opportunities to learning that they were not able to in years past.”

  • iPads for Science Centers

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you for your support in making this project happen. My students and I are appreciative of the contributions and generosity. We cannot wait to use these iPads in our classroom. It is donors like you, that have made my makerspace classroom lively and full of materials that make learning fun and engaging.”

  • Working as a sTEAM

    Funded Jul 8, 2023

Thank you for contributing to this project! The materials funded from this project were able to allow students to create some unique projects. We are thankful for donors like you!

My kindergarten students created rainsticks late last year and were able to incorporate them in music class as well. The music teacher and I create some units that are cross-curricula. Students love being able to apply their engineered projects into other classrooms.

The big paper was used with the older students to develop their portfolio work. I use their portfolio to gauge understanding and support students with science learning.

Students were ecstatic to see the materials come in.”

  • Being a TEAM in STEAM

    Funded Jun 16, 2022

The contribution and support to bring this project to life was really appreciated. Students are loving these resources as they have been added to our makerspace station that students can access during certain times of the week/lesson. Students love anything hands-on, project-based, and freely allows them to express themselves.

Students have created a restaurant and created menus, recipes, and used money. When they do this, you can see creativity come to life, math being used in an engaging way, and SEL play. Students heavily enjoy this part of the makerspace the most. The other materials are used as well for students to build and use what they have learned when we did our engineering unit.”

  • Being Artsy in STEAM

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you for supporting this project. These materials are in constant need of being replenished because we used them often. Students are creating projects that showcase their thinking and ideas in a hands-on or artistic approach. I love seeing what they come up with. The glue and markers are used for the portfolio work. At the end of the school year we put together all our art challenges and create a book. This allows me to give them feedback on their work and provide follow-up questions as well.

The laminating pouches I use to create scavenger hunt task cards, bingo cards, and so much more! It helps the longevity of the materials. The cups were used for a planting project for first grade as we talked about the life cycle and parts of a plant. Students were excited to receive all these materials and be able to use them.”

  • "Let-Go" of my Legos

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you for your contribution to the makerspace in my classroom that I was able to put together for students. Students have a high level of interest when it comes to legos and being able to build with them to create blueprints of engineering ideas.

Students love legos and choosing them as their material choice for their makerspace option. We use them especially to put thoughts into a visual artifact. It truly helps with the engineering process and getting together all the ideas. We are also able to use the storage boxes to put them away and easily access them during the day.”

  • Organization Is Key to Learning

    Funded Oct 1, 2021

Thank you for contributing to this project and bringing it to life. The fans have been a great addition to the classroom and keeping it cool. My students and I are very thankful for that, especially because my classroom is on the second floor and it can get hot. The dresser chest has been helpful as a desk space to keep materials organized and ready to use at any given minute. The storage bins have been helpful keeping materials organized which makes projects easy to put together. As well as the storage space that I have readily accessible for students to get materials they may need especially if there caddies run out of supplies.

My students and I are constantly using supplies especially craftivity projects. For example we do engineering challenges and the bins have made it easy for students to grab what they need and use it.”

  • Art is Messy Business

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you for all of your contributions and support to this project. I was able to get materials for students to access classroom supplies. I was also able to get supplies to keep my classroom clean and sanitizer to help with the current pandemic. My classroom was low on supplies, especially for our art challenges as a newly revamped STEAM classroom for over 500 students.

My students are extremely thankful for all the donations that were given to the project. Students are using the art supplies to create artwork about our science units, such as: volcanoes, animal adaptations, extreme/severe weather, and outer space. I know how much students love to showcase their understanding through art.”

  • Thinking Like a Scientist

    Funded Apr 23, 2021

Thank you for helping fund this project to give students more hands-on materials to learn science through manipulation, teamwork, and project-based fun. Students love to work together and learn science through tactile and kinesthetic learning. All my students love using Legos to construct, they are after-all engineers. I will be able to give my students engaging lessons that teach them about what an engineer does and allow them to use these materials to become one. We will learn about our senses, dinosaurs, and so much more. The construction paper and egg shakers will allow me to teach cross-curricula material that incorporates music and art as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. C

I currently work with about 500 students, grades k-4. I work with 22 classrooms, usually about 20-26 students at a time. In those 22 classrooms I work with: 4x- 4th grade to Kindergarten classrooms, 1 classroom of students with Autism, and 1 classroom with students working on their executive functioning and behavior skills. I work with students that come from low-income neighborhoods. They all come with diverse prior and background knowledge. Not all students come with the same experiences into the classroom. Our school has many students who are English Language Learners. They are working on the necessary skills to be successful. I am currently working on expanding their science and social studies knowledge. Each students brings in a unique personality into the classroom. I enjoy building rapport with my students. They are like a second home to me. We love our community at our school!
