  • Student Voice and Choice: Voting to Choose Award-Winning Books

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Wow! I am blown away by your generosity and just so excited to get these great books into our students’ hands. Every year these award winners are top choices and, better yet, our students will get to vote in the state competition to choose the very best books of the year. Thank you for helping grow a generation of readers!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

  • Keep Calm and Breathe On!

    Funded Feb 14, 2022

This air purifier has been so helpful in our library! With the rise of COVID-19 many families were concerned about returning to in-person learning. This tool has helped lessen their fears and allow immunocompromised or anxious students focus on their learning instead.

It has also greatly reduced the germs from our annual common cold and flu season! As a teacher I have been able to avoid major sickness this year and not miss instruction.

As an added bonus when forest fires brought smoke our classroom air was free and clear of the usual smoke we get!

Thank you for helping us stay safe and healthy!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

  • All Stories Welcome, In Every Language!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you thank you! I am so grateful for your support of my amazing students once again. Coming to a new country with a new language and new culture can be so hard, but everyone can connect through story.

I cannot wait to see how excited my students will be to walk in and see these!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

  • Who Do? WeDo (2.0)!

    Funded Mar 6, 2019

These robots have been SUCH a joy to hundreds of students! When I pulled them out of their boxes for our Science Fridays there was such a cheer. They are not only wonderful for enhancing my lessons but are also one of the most popular free choice activities!

Since then they have been used in all kinds of unique and exciting ways. They have used them to model Mars rovers, taking on all kinds of scientific challenges. They have engineered inventions and tackled new problems. They are constantly blowing me away with the new things they design and build, either independently or collaboratively. And it's all thanks to YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

  • Super STEM Spaces!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Our students are OVERJOYED by your generosity! Every time we get to use these materials I can see just how much more engaged and excited they are about our STEM lessons.

We are able to use them in many ways. They are a special treat to celebrate completing units and used in our semester Science Parties. They're used for modeling engineering concepts and to turn their paper projects into 3D examples. They're also wonderful for quick brain breaks when students need to refocus in order to persevere.

I am in awe at how supported we are by this community!”

  • Ozobots: More Than Meets the Eye

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity! Our students were THRILLED when our new "class pets" arrived. They even named our Ozobots (Oliver, Charlie, and Ellen)!

We use the Ozobots during our Science Friday free choice time. It has been a great extension of our Code.org work and my students' understanding of programming has expanded from only digital to hands-on. They love how the Ozobots' use of color for coding has allowed them to combine science and art, which I love since it's so interdisciplinary! It has also done wonders for their problem-solving strategies. I've given them different challenges and watching them work together to try different options, make mistakes, re-evaluate, then keep going has been amazing!

In the future, I'm hoping to fund a few more Ozobots so that we can use them in other content areas, like spelling out vocabulary, and have enough so that we can use them in whole-group science lessons. This has been an amazing beginning to adding technology to my first-year classroom and I cannot wait to see what the future holds!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

  • There’s an App for That!

    Funded Dec 14, 2017

These iPads have greatly improved our learning! Students love playing math review games on them (even choosing to do so in free time!), they're great for tracking student learning and making our literacy small groups more engaging, and we were able to use them in our science to take pictures of the living things in our local habitats when we went out into "the field!" We can even snap photos of plants and use an app to figure out what it is, something that would be too difficult for these littles trying to navigate encyclopedias.

We have limited computer access in our school, but now we have extra spots for students to learn the technology skills necessary in our modern digital world. These iPads have opened up whole new worlds for my students and I am so thankful for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crawford

In today’s rapidly expanding world, technology plays an increasingly important role in our lives. By funding these iPads, my students can expand their learning through coding and filmmaking projects. By listening to iPad audiobooks while they follow along, my struggling readers can get the 1:1 boosts I’m not able to give each student every day. These iPads would also allow more students to practice the keyboarding skills required by the district, as well as extra math and reading online tools, which our limited access to computers makes difficult. This increases my ability to provide them individualized learning, something difficult to do with larger class sizes. Because of the iPad’s versatility, this project’s completion would be a massive help for all our students across every content area!
