Blast Off!
Funded Dec 17, 2010Thank you so very much for your donations to this classroom project. Because of all of you, my students were able to learn about our universe at an even deeper level than they would have without the materials.
The books we received enabled us to conduct really interesting experiments on gravity and the solar system. The students were so engaged in their learning, it was hard to believe we were actually doing reading, writing, science and math! The especially loved the Magic School Bus books. The students wanted to read them over and over again!

With this MacBook Pro, I have been able to utilize the Internet and word processing components like never before. My lessons have been enhanced with technology and I am very thankful to you for that.
Each day, when I sit down to create the lessons I will teach my students in the weeks to come, I make sure the laptop is right there by my side. With it at my fingertips, I can easily hop on the internet to find the newest techniques for explaining a concept, an information sheet to print out for my students, or a website that will help my students to grasp the content better. I can create worksheets and study guides quickly and easily. The computer has become an indispensable tool to enhance my teaching.

Music Is The Tie That BINDS
Funded Oct 20, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students are so excited about learning how to play the recorder, and through your donation of binders and music books, they have become even more so. Each day, when they pull out their music binders, a sense of wonder and amazement fills the air. We can now play with no lag time because the students are no longer looking through all of their folders trying to find the one sheet of music we need to play for the day. They can easily access it since the sheets are all neatly kept in one central place.
My students are also thrilled to begin writing music. As a teacher, it is so wonderful for me to see the joy in their eyes as what they are writing on their music staffs is realized in the notes they play on the musical instruments. It is truly amazing to see.

Inside the Human Body

Life science is such a fun, and relevant topic to the children in my room. They love learning about their bodies and how each part functions. Through reading the books donated, playing the games we received and performing the experiments, my students have learned about the human organism to depths I never imagined. Because of you, my students are filled with wonder and a questioning spirit that can be fulfilled by using your materials. You have sparked a new found love of learning, something that I as a teacher hope to do each day.
The excitement in my students when I announce we will be learning about cells and science is amazing! They love to get the chance to see the little bitty cells on our digital microscope and view animal and plant cells in our microscopes. We All Have a Heritage
Funded Sep 17, 2010Thank you so very much for this amazing gift you have bestowed upon my class. Each of my students have gained so very much from your donation, words can not describe the lifelong learning I know will continue because of you.
Through our unit on Heritage, each of the students researched their own backgrounds and family histories. Using the puppets as models, the students created dolls showing the traditional dress of their own heritage. They used the binders to house "Heritage Albums", which included a family tree, interviews from members of their family, letters to their future descendants and countless stories from their past. The students are quite interested in learning about where they came from, due in no small part to your donation.

New Project
Funded Sep 21, 2010With all of the focus lately on testing and "getting the scores up", I am pleased to extent to you all my most heartfelt thank you on behalf of my students. Because of your most generous donations, we now have some amazingly fun and stimulating test prep materials at our disposal. There is not a day that goes by in my class that the students don't BEG for us to prepare ourselves for "The Test", so long as we can use all of the wonderful new materials we have.
The comprehension and math question practice materials have given me a new set of resources to pull from when teaching my students. They love to use the Game Show and Quiz Me game. They are so careful to complete all of their work, just so they can use the games!
You have ignited a spark of learning love in my students, and I am so grateful for that. Thank you very much for your kindness.”

Writing Up A Storm
Funded Aug 30, 2010I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. Your impact on the learning in my class has been immeasurable. Because of you, my students are the organized writers they always wanted to be. They each now have a place to put both their thoughts, and their papers, in an organized and easily accessible location. My students are no longer focused on the little things (like, where are those notes I took on complete sentences?), and are left to put their energies into the big things (like, how do I make this narrative I wrote more exciting?)

Learning About Our World
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you so very much for you kind contribution to my class. Because of your donation, my students now have access to great hands-on materials that they otherwise wouldn't have had. They have been working in groups, digging in to the literature. Reading about history has become a cherished pastime in my class now. The students are also really enjoying the amazing artifacts that have come with the donated materials. Actually getting to hold some relics of the past have really helped my students to grasp the geography and exploration topics we have been delving into up until this point in the year.
You have both made such a difference in my classroom. My students and I are so grateful to you for thinking of us and caring about our class.”

Music in the Classroom is KEY!

The light in their eyes that is now present when they play these instruments you have donated is breathtaking. Each one of them is so excited and overjoyed when the recorders come out, it is such a great feeling in my room.
Through your donation, you have inspired these children to seek out opportunities to learn throughout the day. The kids beg me to let them take the instruments to recess just so they can practice! I can not thank you enough for sparking such interest in my students.
I am sure that, with time and practice, many of these students will go on to learn more difficult and exciting instruments, join the orchestra or even form a band. Their future is bright indeed because of your generosity. Thank you.”
