Amazing Kids Need Brilliant Chromebooks!
Funded Dec 20, 2016Having our own set of classroom Chromebooks has allowed my students daily access to their learning and enrichment programs rather than weekly, just on computer lab day.
My students love using the Chromebooks. They interact well with technology and get excited to use them as part of their daily routine.
My students regularly make Google Slide presentations and publish their writings in Google Docs. They even get to practice their coding skills with Scratch and Code.org
A few of my students have become "Chromebook Masters" and regularly help other students and teachers using Google Slides, Doc's and Google Drive.
Thank you for giving them a greater opportunity to achieve academic growth.”

Future Movie Makers And More! - Part Deux
Funded Feb 19, 2016My students and I would like say thank you, so very much, for your generous donations.
The gift of the Kindle Fire tablets have all my students excited about reading.
We started "Little Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood from Newfangled Fairy tales" and they didn't want to stop.
My class loves having such a huge selection of books from the Kindle library, and are super excited that some of the books can read to them!
Our Language Arts time has really changed. It may not seem like much, but reading stories on tablets allow my students to maintain focus on one page at a time so they don't get distracted. It gives students many story choices, letting them feel comfortable and enthusiastic about reading.
Another benefit, I did not anticipate, is having a new behavior management tool.
To encourage on task behaviors, my student are allowed to take short breaks after working an appropriate amount of time. The tablets have become a great incentive for working for a break. Students can choose from many educational apps to use during that time and I have a great behavior management tool.
My students have already started making stop motion and are really thrilled about using the tablets to make their movies. I have been making stop motion movies in my classroom for a couple of years because its gives students a different way to tell a story. Using the tablets to make movies opens more creative avenues. Student can shoot and now edit their own movies on one device and not be limited to just one location in the classroom.
All these wonderful, creative, educational activities would not have been possible without the kind hearts of all our donors.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Steffes
