  • Books in Their Hands

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

THANK YOU so much for fully funding our project to get more books into students hands! This was amazing! My students were beyond thrilled when I told them that our project was fully funded!

We have had our books for about 5 months now and they have been read over and over by the students in our class. It brings me such joy to watch them sneak little reads while they are waiting on a lesson to start or they finished early with an assignment. We have a little reading island outside of our classroom that includes some light-up palm trees, comfy chairs and a soft rug. The students get to take turns to go read on the island during our daily silent reading after lunch. We have been taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather in western Kansas by going outside to read on our school lawn. The kids enjoy this tremendously!

I just can't share how appreciative we are of all the donors who gave a little or a little more in order for me to help encourage a LOVE of reading that hopefully they will keep for a lifetime!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stacy

  • Flexing Our Way Through 1st Grade

    Funded May 11, 2018

I am blessed to call my classroom "ours" with twenty-three happy, enthusiastic, energetic first graders who walk through my door each morning ready to take on their day of learning and playing. They are the reason I get excited to come to school each morning and the reason I step outside of my comfort zone to make learning exciting and engaging!

This year, my students get to wiggle while they work thanks to our wobble stools, pedals, and ball chairs from our project "Flexing Our Way Through 1st Grade" that was fully funded thanks to your generous donation! Even my student teacher gets to enjoy the benefits of the adult ball chair while teaching small groups. Our new furniture allows the bigs and littles in our room to move which keeps our brains more engaged.

Thank you once again, for providing a flexible learning opportunity to my students and myself. We will enjoy this furniture for several years.”

    With gratitude,

  • Showing Off Our Adventures with a GoPro!

    Funded Oct 3, 2018

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the generous donations. We are so elated to see that our project has been FULLY FUNDED and my students will get to show off their learning adventures to the world from their perspective. They are going to be SO EXCITED this morning when I tell them the good news!!”

  • Making Leaps And Bounds With Leapsters

    Funded Jul 31, 2012

We have had the new Leapsters in our classroom for approximately 5 months now and we LOVE them!! My students get to use the Leapsters during reading centers. They continuously choose the Leapsters to practice their letters, numbers, math facts, phonics, etc. on their own. Even when there is not enough Leapsters for each child, the students don't mind watching their friend play and take turns with each other.

I don't know if everyone realizes how a small donation to our classroom can make such a remarkable difference in these kids. I have been able to assign the Leapsters to students who are struggling with letter or number recognition and watched them succeed! THAT is what makes your donation, no matter how big or small, have an IMPACT on a child!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stacy

  • It's A Small World ~ Especially In Kindergarten

    Funded Nov 2, 2012

I can not fully express my gratitude, excitement and pure joy at seeing our classroom project become fully funded in such a short amount of time!! This is my fourth time experiencing a project blink those magical words "FULLY FUNDED" and let me tell you, it doesn't ever lose it's excitement!!

Our politicians may not always see the need for updated school supplies to add to the learning experience in our classrooms, but it is always a wonderful feeling when DONORS begin donating to my project because THEY share my vision of making learning fun.

I can't wait to let the kids begin using the rolling easel during lessons in the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

  • Say Cheese!!!

    Funded Jan 22, 2011

I would like to say THANK YOU for donating to our classroom project and helping us earn a digital camera!! We have used our camera continuously this year in all subject matters. The kids have enjoyed viewing themselves on all the pictures. Our walls look so much friendlier with pictures of our class exploring and learning in Kindergarten.

Our class has been so fortunate to reap the benefits of generous people like you that believe in the education of our youngest citizens!! Thank you for your support!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stacy

  • It's Storytime and I Can Read It Myself

    Funded Oct 10, 2010

I don't know where to begin with my appreciation for your generosity to our classroom. My students have seen first-hand that people from all over, near and far, care about them and want them to learn in a child-friendly environment. The students have taken such pride in their new carpet and book shelf. They are excited to tell new visitors to our room all about them.

My students love to pick a book from the book shelf and lay on our new rug to read. During morning math meeting, each student has their own spot on the rug. It's a wonderful classroom management tool. And, the rug is also educational with letters, shapes and numbers!

Again, THANK YOU for your generous donation and support of our classroom projects!! You have made a difference in the lives of many students!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stacy

I teach in a small, rural school district in western Kansas. On average, I have 22 students in my first grade classroom. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds such as farming families, 2-parent families, single parent families, low-income, non-English speaking, and migrant. I typically have 2-3 students in my classroom who qualify for Special Education services and about 4-5 who qualify for Title I services in math or reading. I like to engage my students in hands-on activities as much as I can. I feel that I get the best response and motivation from them when we do these types of activities. We explore with STEM activities throughout the school year as the students create their own STEM projects to solve problems.
