  • Notebooking Our Way Through Science

    Funded Nov 25, 2011

Thank you so very much for your support for our classroom project. My students loved decorating the front and back covers for their science notebooks. Being able to take part in the process of creating the notebooks really gave them ownership of their work.

Having the laminating machine and the book binding machine not only helped with this project but several others as well. I have even been able to help other teachers on my hall!

Thank you again for your contributions and support.... they made a HUGE difference in my classroom. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frost

  • FEED USA With Help From an iPad

    Funded Nov 29, 2011

It truly is amazing to watch how access to technology can transform a classroom. My class was fortunate to have several projects to be funded through FEED USA. The combination of gardening supplies, food preparation supplies, and technology have made for an impressive classroom transformation.

The iPAD has so many apps dealing with healthy food preparation, the water cycle to show how plants grow and create their own energy, YouTube videos to watch food being prepared, etc. We are so grateful that you picked our class to support. ”

  • My Point Exactly!

    Funded Aug 22, 2011

Thank you so very much for your support of my classroom. It has been amazing to see how thankful the students have been for new pencils and supplies. Many of my students come from very low socioeconomic families and have never had access to new school supplies. Having new pencils, pencil sharpeners, twistable crayons, and colored pencils have been a HUGE morale boost in my room. The quality of student work has improved and they are taking pride in the work they have created.

Thank you again for choosing our project to support. Your contributions helped transform my classroom in more ways than you can imagine! ”

  • Like Two Peas In A Pod... an iPod That Is

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

Thank you for your support of our bullying project. Having the iPod Touch in the classroom has been such an asset. The students have used it every single day. The class set of Bullying in Schools have proven to be a valuable bonus in the classroom.

Bullying has become such a hot topic in schools recently and is a huge issue in my 4th grade classroom. Having the Bullying in Schools books as a tool and the iPod Touch have increased awareness and helped my class become more of a team.

Thanks again for your support in my classroom. My students and I thank you wholeheartedly.”

  • Filling All of Our Nooks and Crannies With Knowledge

    Funded Aug 18, 2011

Thank you so very much for your support of this classroom project! Having the Nooks in my classroom has proven to be very exciting and challenging. It has spurred a love for reading in my classroom, but the kids are competing with each other to be able to finish their work first in order to read more! It's a win-win for sure!

The Nooks combine books and technology which the students are craving now. They love being in the class with all the newest gadgets. Our classroom has become quite the popular place to be. In fact, students are asking to stay inside during recess so they can read on the Nooks.

Thanks again for your support for our project. It certainly has made a difference with my students. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frost

  • Building a Bully Free Classroom

    Funded Oct 14, 2011

Thank you so very much for your donations to our project. Bullying is such a big issue in schools today and having the right materials to help combat this issue is a huge help.

We have used our Bullying in Schools book a great deal. Having the poster board and extra incentives for the students has also been a great help.

I wrote several projects for bullying and the combination of materials, technology, and books have been such an asset in my classroom. I can see an improvement in the dynamics of my classroom already. Thank you for taking an interest in our project. ”

  • Tradebooks Over Textbooks

    Funded Oct 7, 2011

Thank you so very much for your donation to our project. We received three sets of tradebooks. Having the tradebooks makes history much more interesting. We have learned so much about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Sacagawea.

The students have read the books, completed reports for each, and I have been amazed to watch them make connection between what they read in the novels to what we are studying in class.

It is heartwarming to know there are companies who are invested in our students. Thank you again for your kindness and willingness to help in my classroom. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frost

  • Growing Through Gardening (FEED USA)

    Funded Jun 22, 2011

It certainly takes a village to raise a child. In the case of my Donors Choose project, it took almost a dozen donors to fund it completely... that speaks volumes to your priorities. We are so very thankful for your kindness and willingness to contribute to our classroom. The gardening materials and the digital camera have proved invaluable to our classroom. The students have been engaged in their own learning... hands-on experiences are certainly the best in the classroom. Thank you for your support of my kids and our classroom! ”

    Mrs. Frost

I have a FABULOUS class of 20 first graders in Georgia. We are a group 50% boys, 50% girls. We are a mixture of all different races and nationalities. A large percentage of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. They are an eclectic mix of students, but they blend well together. I haven't taught a class this large in many years, but with budget cuts come larger class sizes. It becomes more difficult to meet everyone's needs when you have a larger class... Donors Choose helps to provide extra classroom supplies and extras for my students to use.
