  • An Amazing Art & Writing Corner

    Funded Apr 20, 2016

Opening the boxes that came a few months ago was just like Christmas in my classroom. I waited until the kids were all in the room and had the boxes in the middle of the carpet. They gathered around as I opened the boxes. There were shrieks and ohhhhs and ahhhhhs as I took out each item and showed the children. The idea that strangers would send us presents was so exciting for them (and me, too!)

Thank you for investing in my classroom and my children. Your donations helped fund this project and makes my job so much easier. The children are loving all of our new supplies and they have certainly been put to good use. It takes a village to teach children... thank you for being a part of our village.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frost

  • Working On 1:1

    Funded Aug 3, 2016

We have had our Chromebook for a few months now and this addition brings our classroom to 6 total. The kids love being able to grab a Chromebook and take it to their seats or to a comfortable spot in the classroom. They are able to work on instructional programs, listen/watch stories online, and even do research.

We are so fortunate that donors like you have helped our classroom. The fact that we have 6 Chromebooks is HUGE as a teacher. Although we are not yet 1:1, we certainly are getting closer one project at a time. Thank you for helping with this project and investing in my students. It certainly takes a village and I am thankful you were a part of ours.”

  • Chrome-Tastic

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

It is often hard to describe the impact of a fulfilled Donors Choose project to donors. How do you show with words the impact upon a whole class of children. This project coupled with another has given our classroom 2 Chromebooks. The children's enthusiasm and excited is certainly contagious. The Chromebooks are dependable and there is something magical about a new piece of technology in an elementary classroom.

Thank you for investing in my children. I tell them all the time that people want them to succeed, but this certainly drives my point home. Your generosity helps me be a better teacher.”

  • Help Us Be Germ Free!

    Funded Feb 17, 2015

What an exciting day when our supplies came. The boxes holding the Kleenex and Clorox wipes were SO large that we had to use a hand truck to roll them down to my room. Other teachers let out gasps and told me how lucky I was as I rolled the boxes into the classroom. The kids squealed with delight as we opened the boxes. We had gotten to a point where we were using toilet tissue to wipe our noses and they were so thrilled with the prospect of wiping their sniffly noses with soft Kleenex instead.

This project has allowed me to have several boxes of Kleenex at their tables and we can clean our desks with Clorox wipes each week. Having Kleenex nearby is a comfort especially when you don't feel so great. Thank you for contributing to Donors Choose and for seeing the worth in a project designed to help keep my kiddos healthy and germ free!”

  • Making Memories In Color

    Funded Oct 18, 2014

Our Donors Choose supplies came to our classroom this week in record time. I was so excited to open the boxes and show the kids our toner for the printer. They OOOHed and AGGGHed and couldn't believe that strangers helped pay for our supplies!

I started printing the covers and pages for our memory books right away. We are actually almost 1/3 of the way done with this school year and I wanted them to be able to start on the memory books early so that it isn't such a large task at the end of the year.

The books look amazing so far and I can't wait to bind them and show them to the kiddos. I am so thankful for your kind donation for our classroom. It really does take a village and I'm so glad you chose to invest in my students.”

  • Money Matters

    Funded May 16, 2012

Thank you for your generous donations and matching offers. This project will make money make sense to my students... especially my struggling learners. Without support of individuals and companies like you, teachers wouldn't be able to put materials in the hands of the kids quite so easily.

I can't wait until school starts back so that I can utilize the materials with my new group of students. Thank you again for your support and I look forward to posting pictures as soon as I can! ”

  • Growing Through Gardening, Part 2 (FEED USA)

    Funded Sep 5, 2011

Thank you again for contributing to our class project... words cannot describe the impact that each funded project has on my students. I can teach them daily and tell them how much people care about them, but when the boxes of supplies start coming in.... they can truly see that others are invested in them as well.

This project was all about being able to put the learning in the hands of my students. They were able to be very hands on and this was very valuable. Thank you again for choosing my classroom to support! ”

  • Can We Print This..... Please?

    Funded Nov 29, 2011

Thank you so very much for choosing to donate to our classroom project. The addition of a color printer in the classroom has been the most worthwhile Donors Choose project that I have submitted. The students and I have used the color printer every single day since it arrived. In fact, we are already almost out of ink!!! Being able to see their hard work IN COLOR has made the kids excited about typing reports and posters. I am able to print their certificates in color and make fabulous eye-catching displays for our classroom.

You wouldn't think that a printer would make a huge difference in the day of a teacher and her students, but it certainly has for us! I am the envy of all the other 4th grade teachers :) Thanks again for supporting my classroom and my kids!!! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frost

I have a FABULOUS class of 20 first graders in Georgia. We are a group 50% boys, 50% girls. We are a mixture of all different races and nationalities. A large percentage of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. They are an eclectic mix of students, but they blend well together. I haven't taught a class this large in many years, but with budget cuts come larger class sizes. It becomes more difficult to meet everyone's needs when you have a larger class... Donors Choose helps to provide extra classroom supplies and extras for my students to use.
