  • Calm, Relaxed and Ready to Learn!

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for supporting me and my students! These supplies will come just in time for my students to use during these long stretches before spring break and then until summer. Together we can help our young learners become successful, future leaders!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bell

This classroom project was brought to life by Herb Kohl Philanthropies and 2 other donors.
  • Back to School Essentials

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

I want to express my gratitude to all the donors who supported this project. My students started the school year off with much needed supplies. We used the black cardstock to support visual aids/pictures, gluesticks to mount pictures for projects we created, and dry erase markers for writing.

The students were excited to receive and use the new supplies. They use the materials with care and have made them last. They are motivated to work seeing they have brand new supplies!

To wrap this up, I would like to give one last huge thank you! Together, we are making a difference in students' lives!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bell

  • Everyday Supply Needs!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

The everyday supplies definitely provided fine motor fun for my students. We did several different activities with playdoh! Students have time for free play with the playdoh, getting the opportunity to create whatever they wanted to. We also used the playdoh to form letters prior to hand writing activities. We used cotton swabs for painting and cups for water. My students and I are very thankful for your donation.

These donations lasted me over a year. Each time I used one of these items, I was thankful to the community support for my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Wonderful Writing!

    Funded Apr 30, 2022

Thank you for supporting my students in the area of writing and fine motor. My students use the pencil to work on pencil grasp and writing. The pencils are just the right size for small hands. The students are also completing activities using the short, dry erase markers. These small tools are making a big impact on writing and drawing activities for the little kiddos I work with. The dry erase protector sheets make activities re-usable and help to save the environment. The sight word activity set includes a dry erase card set. The kids love the cards and the writing space is the perfect size.”

  • Writing On Our Own

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

First of all, thank you for your support. We use the supplies on a daily basis. The dry erase markers were high quality and have lasted. The glue sticks were essential to making learning interactive.

My students were very excited to have their own supplies and an individual pencil case to keep the supplies in. Having individual supplies was helpful this school year in order to potentially reduce the spread of germs.

My students are always working on improving their writing skills. This projected helped to support my students in this very important school subject. My students no longer find our writing activities boring and are actually excited to practice writing.”

  • School Supply Reboot!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning may have shifted to virtual learning, but learning did continue! This meant, us educators needed to make adjustments to this unprecedented situation and write our own path. We sent home supplies with no strings attached. Students were provided with supplies such as dry erase markers and worksheet protectors. They were most excited about getting new playdoh!

Parents have been faced with new challenges. Parents have been vital to the success of students during virtual learning. Parents appreciated any supplies I was able to provide for students to use while virtual learning was taking place. I am beyond grateful for supplies that I previously had and gave out were replenished through this project and all the donors that contributed.”

  • New School! New Start!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Before our school building unexpectedly closed for the remainder of the school year, I was able to use these supplies with my students. The card stock was used to make mini books that students authored and illustrated and got to take home! My students take great pride in and put forth extra effort when they are creating something "meaningful" such as a book! The reaction from the students when they get to bring it home is priceless!

The glue sticks and scissors were used on a daily basis! My students are motivated to work on and improve their fine motor skills when they are doing a project and not just practice! Lastly, I am excited to continue to organize my space!”

  • Little Learners! Bubble Fun & Writing

    Funded May 4, 2019

Wow! What fun has this project brought to my students! We have used the no-spill bubbles indoors and outdoors. The students feel a level of independence by getting to hold the bubble container and using the wand by themselves because it will not spill. Words can not express the excitement they show when we use the bubbles.

The dry erase letters cards and dry erase markers have been great as well. It is an easily portable activity and the kids are excited to write/trace a letter. They can erase if they make a mistake and try again. They get to pick which color marker which is exciting to kids. Previously, I was down to two working dry erase markers so color choice was limited.

Thanks again to everyone who shared my project and to those who were able to make a donation. Every bit counts and is appreciated!!”

  • I Can Calm Myself!

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Words can not express the excitement in my students when we did our first activity with the light up wands. The students have a new level of motivation and participation. I have seen an increase in social participation as well. The light up wands provide gross motor larger movements and are safe to use in a small space. The smaller light up wands are used for handwriting warm up activities in addition to being used to calm and regulate. The sand timers are a great tool the help with self calming. Students relax while watching the sand slowly fall. Lastly, the emoji squeeze balls provide a physical outlet as well as visual outlet for identifying emotions. Thanks again for helping my students!”

  • Let's Learn Letters!

    Funded Jan 30, 2018

My students absolutely love the scented markers we received as part of this donor's choose project. They are excited to perform writing and drawing activities. This spring, we used the special butterfly paper cut-outs to make beautiful butterflies which easily transitioned into a writing activity. For the younger students, the hands-on letter learning activities including build-a-letter and alphabet dough mats making practicing letter formation fun and exciting. They also are having success and greater independence while using scissors thanks to the spring assist scissors. Our spring activities were filled with fun and learning thanks to your generous donation!”
