Passionate Pianists Need Pianos!
Funded Feb 8, 2022Thank you so much for generously funding practice keyboards for my piano department. Thanks to you, all of our students now have access to a keyboard for at-home practice - so essential to their success as young musicians!
This year has been challenging on all fronts, but it has given me, my students, and their parents such peace of mind to know that they have access to the most essential supply that they need for my class. As circumstances have changed for my students over the course of this pandemic, many found themselves without access to an instrument for various reasons but I was able to supply them with one of these keyboards so that they could continue their studies. They are compact enough that they can easily be transported to my students' homes and can fit in their homes without taking up a lot of space. We have been really impressed with the quality of the instruments and I know that these pianos will keep making an impact in our department year after year.
The fact that I now have these instruments that can be loaned out made taking piano classes a possibility for so many more students. All of the students that I have had the opportunity to visit with about taking piano seemed so excited to have the chance to take piano even though they could not provide themselves with an instrument at home. Thanks to you, our department has had a record number of requests for enrollment in our beginning courses. Thank you!”

Funded Feb 17, 2022I cannot thank you enough for fully funding this project. Because our school is in a 100-year old building, we have lots of issues with our heating/cooling systems and this year was no exception. Several weeks before the end of school, the AC in my classroom quit completely and the humidity was unreal - topping over 70%! Thanks to your generous donations, the dehumidifiers have been running 24/7 and saving our instruments. I don't know what we would have done without this project being funded at exactly the right time. You are a lifesaver!
It will be wonderful next year to be able to get the pianos tuned at the beginning of the year and have them hold a tune since the dehumidifiers can hold the humidity in the room at the perfect, constant level. This is something that we've never been able to do. Your donation is providing our students with tuned instruments for the entire year and protecting them from damage - we cannot thank you enough!”

Funded Feb 7, 2022Thank you so much for making this project a reality! My students were SO excited to receive the keyboard amp, gig bag, and page turner. They couldn't wait to get the amp out of the box and, of course, crank it up all the way to see how loud it was. We were all pleasantly surprised!
Since the pandemic, my students have had very few opportunities to perform outside the classroom. As things have slowly returned to normal, we have been able to set up more performances outside our classroom. This includes going to local elementary schools to help recruit new students to apply to our school, as well as just performances in the building, but in more visible locations. The students were so excited to hear that they will be traveling even more next year to play across our community. A performance at our local mall is already on the schedule.
Having these items available will make traveling to perform so easy that there's no reason not to! Our students are really looking forward to taking the next step in their performing career by traveling and playing for a wider audience. Thank you for making this project a reality!”

Funded Oct 17, 2021Thank you so much for donating leveled classical duet books to our students! Finding quality materials for beginning students is always a challenge, and these books really filled the gap this year! These books are filled with pieces that students love to read and play, especially because the pieces are written by standard classical composers that they recognize.
We are working right now to prepare for our spring recitals, and I can't wait to assign pieces from this series. Because we have been in virtual learning for so long, it will be really special for these students to be able to play pieces with another student, rather than always playing solo pieces. Thank you again for contributing to my classroom - my students and I thank you!”

Funded Aug 20, 2021Thank you so much for fully funding a new digital piano, stand, and pedals to completely replace a keyboard that is older than my students are! The students who are assigned to that seat were SO excited to see a new industry-standard digital piano! Of course, they had to try out all the buttons! :) They had been struggling with the one that was there before because it was so old and had its "quirks" but now they are sailing through lessons without the distractions created by this older keyboard.
Your donation is blessing not only our school, but another school in our district.
The old keyboard we replaced will be getting a second chance at a new life at a high school piano program across town so that they too can expand their piano class offerings. My hope is that we continue to replace our older keyboards, they can be used elsewhere in the district to grow the number of students who can enroll in our district's other piano programs.
Thank you again for starting our year off on a "good note" by fully funding this project! My students and I thank you!”

Funded Mar 10, 2021Thank you so much for providing my classroom with an industry-standard Apple computer, mouse, keyboard, and HDMI cable! Thanks to you, we were able to edit all of our piano ensemble videos following our All City Piano performance and released the video via YouTube. It was a huge success!
The computer continues to be used on a daily basis. It is the perfect size for the digital piano setup that we use in our classroom and it is seamlessly compatible with the other Apple products we use in class, which makes teaching so much easier when we are not fighting against technology! We used the computer to edit our other performance videos from last year, which was a major help since all our students' contests had to be submitted online! We will also be integrating this machine into our archiving workflows as we organize our print and audio music libraries and preserve photos, recordings, and videos of our students for years to come.
Thank you for giving my classroom the computing power that it needs!”

Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for providing a full classroom set of Faber Piano Adventures Primer Level method books for my beginning pianists! I love pulling out these books in class because the students get so excited - they know they will get to play fun and engaging pieces with attractive duet parts to make their playing sound even more rich. These books have been so helpful with our youngest students, and for our students who struggle with reading music. These books have been there to "fill in the gaps," leading those students to become more confident readers and giving them the confidence to try some pieces on their own.
I have been training our beginning students on pieces in these books so that they can help our 5th grade students on the days that they get to visit our piano classes as part of their music appreciation curriculum. It's so fun to see these young students working together and helping our elementary friends have fun at the piano. I hope that these books will encourage those 5th grade students to enroll in piano next year and maybe will even inspire the administration to create a couple of 5th grade "Intro to Piano" courses to help our department keep growing.
Thank you so much for providing our department with these wonderful materials!”
