Loving Louisiana with Paintings to Prove It!
Funded Mar 22, 2013I would like to thank you again for your generosity. The fourth grade students had a wonderful educational experience as we discovered many interesting facts about our home state, Louisiana. I was inspired by the students' creative ideas as they individually came up with a plan for their own Louisiana style painting.
Each class was so excited when I showed them the canvases and I explained that they would each have one to keep! The classroom teachers were also grateful to receive a painting to keep in the classroom as a reference for our Louisiana study.
Again, this project would not have been possible without your help. Thank you so much for giving 180 students a canvas painting experience and a lasting memory of our Louisiana heritage!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Austin
Please Don't Make Me Wear THAT!!!
Funded Sep 27, 2012Thank you so much for your support! The students were so excited when I brought out the new paintbrushes and even more so when they saw the fancy new aprons! They could not believe that they were just their size. I have already had the opportunity to use the aprons and brushes in four different schools in several classrooms and I plan to use them for years to come. Without your support we would not have these wonderful supplies. Because of generous people like you, my students will have more opportunities to paint and express their creativity!
2000 thank yous from 2000 happy little artists!”

Funded Jan 1, 2012I would like to thank you, once again, on behalf of my students and myself. We had so much fun creating the self- portraits! I used the double sided mirrors for more than one hundred 3rd grade students to sketch their faces. You should have seen the excitement as each class walked into the art room and saw everything set up. I travel to several schools, so I plan to use these materials often, for a variety of self-portrait style projects.
Thanks to you, the self-portraits were, and will be, a huge success!”

Mrs. Austin
Look at Me! Look at Me! Digital Displays of Art
Funded Oct 2, 2011I would like to say again how much I appreciate your generosity! The digital camera and printer, that you funded, have been tremendous resources for documenting and displaying student art-work. The students love to see their art-work displayed, and they are even more excited to see a picture of themselves, proudly holding their master-piece!
I teach art to more than 2,000 students at 6 different schools each year. It is extremely helpful to have a camera and memory card that can travel with me to each school. Three of the schools where I teach art have over %80 of the students qualify for free and reduced lunches, so we are not able to do much 'fundraising' for 'extras.'
Thank you so much for contributing to Art Education. I can assure you that these resources, that you have made available, will provide students a boost of self confidence for years to come.
