  • Managing Daily Feelings Before They Are Classroom Behaviors

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

We cannot THANK You enough for your generosity funding our project. The students have been able to learn new ways to self monitor behaviors and are able to make positive choices related to those identifiable feelings.

Children are so eager "as well as teachers" to participate in activities when new resources are provided to them...The emotion chips and "What would you do?" study book are a huge hit within the classroom.

Having access to these materials for years to come, is going to be a huge factor in being able to gain control over student behaviors prior to them becoming an issue.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stover

  • Sports for ALL Ages

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

My students LOVED creating their own jump ropes. The best feeling is seeing them SMILE! Your generosity has hit the hearts of each n every child in my physical education course. They can take this piece of art, and cherish it for a lifetime! Thank you for all you do for our students in education. Having a child of my own who participated in this DonorsChoose project, I seen first hand the Joy and accomplishment that comes from a child's face when given the opportunity to work hands on and be able to keep what they create.”

  • Encouraging Fitness through the Use of Timers and Lap Counters

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Everyone involved in the funding of this project is very dear to our schools hearts. We can not do what we do as educators for our children without the love from our communities and people who are actively dedicated to their success. So from the depths of all of our hearts, THANK YOU!!!

Along with the appreciation that we feel, the benefits of the students getting to use such amazing equipment, like the timers is priceless. The joy of their excitement each time something new is available for their use, is what makes being apart of their education all worth the dedication that we all put into making their educational experience GREAT.”

  • Climbing Wall

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

The gratitude that our school has for our donor "Walmart" is just as large as the love the students have for the new PE equipment. The Rock Wall that was donated to our school through DonorsChoose.org is the coolest resource the students have to encourage physical fitness and allow the students a fun, energetic way to work all the muscles in their body.

The faces and cheers are unforgettable, the students are just astonished to have such equipment available to them.....the reaction was priceless:)

Big THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!! Having the availability to provide Fairdale students with an AMAZING rock climbing wall to increase their physical fitness is just unbelievable. We look forward to the years of enjoyment that this fitness equipment will give our community and will actively participate in learning the become physically active through movement/rock climbing.

My next project is to increase the availability to pedometers within my classroom to classroom set to individual access, having a pedometer to wear not only for a short class period but for a whole school day is my goal for my students.

Thank you again, from the students at Fairdale Elementary School”

My students have greatly appreciated and directly benefited from the use of the new Yoga equipment (mats) and Stair-Steppers to increase their physical fitness levels. My students have actively engaged themselves in becoming more physically fit while they utilize the equipment on a regular basis. We cannot "Thank You!" enough for your generosity! We look forward to the years ahead of the enjoyment we will receive by having access to using our new equipment within the physical education classroom!”

  • Mathematic Learning Centers Building A Love for Math

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

My classroom has changed in many ways, the student's show a new interest in math and they love to use the manipulative/toolboxes to learn mathematics skills. The student's now do not attempt to escape from the lesson, instead they are actively participating in small group experimental activities that promotes learning. The materials are easy to utilize and are kid-user friendly. Being able to learn math while playing games, reading storybooks and manipulating hands-on materials is keeping my students engaged.

My student's were greatly appreciative of the materials when they first seen them. After the initial shock of so many new boxes, the students was interested in knowing where they came from. Being able to be the first person/class to use a newly purchased toolkit was very exiting for them.

The next step in my project is to continue teaching the basic foundation to mathematics within my classroom. I anticipate my students will be able to master this skills to be able to successfully apply them into their everyday lives. We ALL are truly excited to have had this opportunity to be apart of a project that was fully funded through DonorChoose.org”

    With gratitude,

Encouraging my students to be excited to learn mathematics and be able to apply it within the real world is my goal each day. The learning centers that I am requesting will give students those hands-on/visual tools they need to assist in learning to solve mathematics concepts of fractions, understanding place value and basic operations. The supplemental toolbox of materials I will incorporate in my new math learning centers include a Complete Early Math Instant Learning Kit for grades K-5 (counting, comparing numbers, making base ten, edition, subtraction, pattern, shapes and measurements). Each kit included enough materials for four student to utilize at a time. A complete set of Math Folder Games for grades 2-3 ( a kit with place value, time/money, operations and measurement). A complete kit addition/subtraction/multiplication/division Hands-On Regrouping for grades K-5, the reading series Math Start Stories for grades 1-3, and the Part-Whole Fractions Cards to enrich students mathematics skills. The basic mathematics skills that my students struggle retaining will be available to them in easy to access centers. My students level of achievement in learning math concepts and their abilities to apply these skills in daily life is directly related to the educational experience that I provide for them within my classroom. Having standard based, data driven material to utilize will increase their educational outcome.
