  • A Vibrant and Fun Media Center

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so very much to contributing to my Media Center project. Over the summer, I transformed the media center into a bright, colorful, and inviting place for the students to learn. I created this by painting the lanterns in the project bright colors and I used the picture frames to display popular book characters. The bright colored tractor seats were added in the media center as extra seating in our Maker Space.

The students were so excited when they entered the library for the first time in August. There were "ooohs" and "aaahhs". When asked what their favorite part was, many said the bright lights and book characters!

I just love how the library makes the students feel. They love coming into class and enjoying everything it has to offer. I still have several projects to complete in here, as it is a work in progress, but your contribution gave it a huge start! I sincerely appreciate your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

  • Osmos for our Ipads - Engagement and Beyond!

    Funded Feb 20, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to our OSMO project. The kids LOVED using these in the classroom with our iPads. Having 2 OSMO kits in the classroom allowed the students to each have their own when they went to that particular center, as they typically go in pairs.

We used all 3 of the OSMO kits, but the one that challenged my students the most was the math kit. I was amazed at how much it challenged my students who typically perform above grade level in the classroom. I sensed frustration but it was so good for them. It really made them step outside of their "this is easy" mindset and really challenge themselves. They were so excited when they were able to complete a level! I couldn't believe how all 3 kits challenged my students (and myself to be honest!) I love anything in the classroom that allows for differentiation, and this definitely did!

Thank you so much for your generosity. I am always so amazed at the kindness of others! You made a difference in last years class and for many classes to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shelton

  • Manipulative Madness for Kinders

    Funded Feb 12, 2016

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom. The kids LOVE the manipulatives! They were so excited when I opened up these big boxes of materials for them to use! They couldn't believe people just donated to us when they didn't even know us! We had been talking about generosity in our classroom and it was a perfect example! We immediately opened them and placed them in our centers for use as early finishers! They are spread throughout the room so that they aren't constantly using the same blocks and are getting to use each set 1-2 times a week. This keeps their excitement up for that center each week! I LOVE that they are able to follow directions to build the items in the building directions sets. This teaches them to follow steps to get a desired outcome! I also love how they use their imagination to build with the Playstix and the Letter Construction Set. They love to build their name with the letters and they love to build house hold objects with the Playstix. I've had a few students build things like couches, tables, and chairs and then they want to demonstrate for the class! Thank you again for donating to our classroom! We really appreciate it and I know students for years to come will enjoy them!”

  • Alphabet Tubs

    Funded May 9, 2012

I cannot thank you enough for funding my classroom project. I am beyond amazed that there are wonderful people and companies like you that give to our schools and children.

The alphabet tubs and magnetic ABC fishing game are used weekly in my classroom. I am able to use both projects for all students because I can differentiate both games. I am using the alphabet tubs to sort beginning sounds and ending sounds. I am using the magnetic fishing game to identify letters, sounds, and do ABC order.

The kids LOVE using these hands on activities and are learning in such a fun way. We would not have had the opportunity to have these resources if it weren't for wonderful donors like you! Thank you again for your kind generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shelton

We are fortunate to live a rural area with great students and parents. They work hard and strive to do their best. Their parents are involved and care about their child's academic progress. We have parents willing to come volunteer in the classrooms and help students read and succeed. Although we have wonderful parents and students, we don't have a lot of extra funding that some of the more diverse schools have. We are a Title I school, but we are not a diverse school and do not have a large amount of Title I money. We use as much of our "extra" funds to pay for intervention teachers, reading teachers, ESS, etc that we do not get through the state.
