Homonyms and Homophones
Funded Nov 12, 2009I would like to take this time to thank you very much for your generous donations. Thanks to your generosity, my English Language Learners are able to access resources which help them learn the different meanings of homonyms and homophones.
Recently, we went on a class field trip, and when the students saw the ewes, they immediately remembered that they had seen the difference between ewe and you in some of the books your helped supply them with.

Play it Again, Teacher!
Funded May 27, 2009This letter is only a small token of appreciation for your generous donation. My class and I truly appreciate the playground equipment which you provided for us. All my students enjoy using the jump ropes and balls at every recess, as well as during organized play time, when they are able to practice dribbling, throwing baskets, shooting goals, and jumping rope. In this day and age, exercising their bodies is as important as exercising their minds, and thanks to your donations we are able to do both.

Funded Jun 15, 2009I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation to my third grade bilingual classroom.
Because of your generosity, my classroom is now able to experience publishing their writing and other activities on a printer, and seeing their work come to life.
There is nothing more exciting than watching the eagerness with which students await for their masterpieces to be printed out, so they can share them with classmates. My students are also able to make home photo albums, which they embellish with their writing, and then share during our school book fair.
Your assistance has allowed me to give students this privilege, and they have bloomed because of it.
I thank you for them and for me, because I get to see my work come to life and the love of learning exemplified in the students' works of art.

A Window to the Future!!
Funded Apr 6, 2009Your generous donation has allowed my students to publish their writing in so many ways! They have used the printer to print out graphs showing their progress in physical education, as well as reading fluency, and multiplication facts automaticity. In addition, they have been able to print out presentations and brochures for multiple projects we can now complete.
Our school has been severely affected by the current budget crisis, and without your help, my students would have been unable to print out and publish their masterpieces. However, your generosity has allowed them to visualize and complete many previously inaccessible projects.

Checking for Understanding!
Funded Apr 10, 2009This letter is a small token of appreciation for your generosity. Thanks to your contribution, my class is now able to participate interactively with me during direct instruction lessons. I am able to see if students are understanding the concepts as I am teaching them, which leads to greater academic success.
The students love writing on their whiteboards with their new markers, and they are able to see what I write on the whiteboard much more clearly now that I am using the markers you so generously provided. Also, we find that we can copy homework which is related to our lessons and the pencil sharpener has replaced our noisy, clunky manual one. Students are now asked to stop sharpening their pencils because they enjoy using it so much!
Without donors like your, it would be very difficult for my students to have new whiteboard markers to use during instruction, and they are enjoying it and learning so much more because of it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!”

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words...
Funded Oct 2, 2008Thank you very much for funding my class request. I have just started showing my students how to make presentations on the computer using Powerpoint, and they will be excited to be able to place their own photographs in these presentations. Many of my students do not have access to digital cameras or computers at home, so by funding my proposal, you have allowed them to get a feel for the wonders of technology. As second language learners, many of them will appreciate having a concrete, pictorial device to help them learn.
