    Recently, we went on a class field trip, and when the students saw the ewes, they immediately remembered that they had seen the difference between ewe and you in some of the books your helped supply them with.

    Because of your generosity, my classroom is now able to experience publishing their writing and other activities on a printer, and seeing their work come to life.

    There is nothing more exciting than watching the eagerness with which students await for their masterpieces to be printed out, so they can share them with classmates. My students are also able to make home photo albums, which they embellish with their writing, and then share during our school book fair.

    Your assistance has allowed me to give students this privilege, and they have bloomed because of it.

They have used the printer to print out graphs showing their progress in physical education, as well as reading fluency, and multiplication facts automaticity. In addition, they have been able to print out presentations and brochures for multiple projects we can now complete.

  • Checking for Understanding!

    This letter is a small token of appreciation for your generosity. Thanks to your contribution, my class is now able to participate interactively with me during direct instruction lessons. I am able to see if students are understanding the concepts as I am teaching them, which leads to greater academic success.

    The students love writing on their whiteboards with their new markers, and they are able to see what I write on the whiteboard much more clearly now that I am using the markers you so generously provided. Also, we find that we can copy homework which is related to our lessons and the pencil sharpener has replaced our noisy, clunky manual one. Students are now asked to stop sharpening their pencils because they enjoy using it so much!

    Without donors like your, it would be very difficult for my students to have new whiteboard markers to use during instruction, and they are enjoying it and learning so much more because of it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!”

  • A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words...

    Thank you very much for funding my class request. I have just started showing my students how to make presentations on the computer using Powerpoint, and they will be excited to be able to place their own photographs in these presentations. Many of my students do not have access to digital cameras or computers at home, so by funding my proposal, you have allowed them to get a feel for the wonders of technology. As second language learners, many of them will appreciate having a concrete, pictorial device to help them learn.

I want to do anything I can to make literacy part of their lives and encourage a love of reading.
