Due to an increase in Kindergarteners and a Pandemic lack of teachers, I was switched to Kindergarten from 1st grade. The majority of them are from low income homes. The emphasis at our school is literacy. I am grateful for this. I also want to provide a positive introductory experience to STEM as well. My students are on a rigorous curriculum schedule and choose to wander when learning concepts are different or new. They choose to walk around or mentally zone out when learning feels boring or difficult.
I want to change that. My students love the legos I bought and small science experiments, which take time. The kits and seating, I believe will cut down on this. It has worked with past students in my other school. Unfortunately those kits aren't available here. Help me make a difference in their desire to learn while provoking their curiosity towards learning about science, math, engineering and technology.
