Did you know that learning a new language is second only to math in causing anxiety? Not in my classroom!! By providing students with materials that they can understand even from the very novice level, I'm able to give my students confidence in their ability to learn a new language. Giving them this easy to understand language is easy when I'm speaking, but it becomes much more challenging to provide when they're reading. "Capibara Con Botas" is a tool we can use in the classroom to give students the confidence to use their newly-acquired language in a meaningful way. We'll be able to use their reading experiences with the novel as a springboard to discuss language and cultural themes that will stick with them through the years. My students love reading, and this project will allow them to expand and explore their language capabilities!
