Funded Oct 18, 2017Thank you for your generous contribution to our field trip fund. Because of you, over 130 first grade students- more than half of whom come from low income households-- were able to experience hands-on science and engineering. They explored dynamic geologic forces as they attempted to build a house that could withstand a simulated earthquake. They experimented with wind and water, learning about density and buoyancy as they discovered what objects would sink or float. Because of you, these students were able to re-imagine urban structures by inhabiting the child-sized cityscape of Kidopolis. In the Discovery Garden and Archimedes Playground, they learned about nature and the mechanics of simple machines. Because of you, our students had safe and reliable access to these learning experiences. Thank you so much for helping to create this wonderful day that our students will never forget.”
With gratitude,
