Got the Wiggles? My Energetic 5th Graders Do Too!
Funded Aug 15, 2019Your generosity and thoughtfulness means a lot to me and to my 5th grade CSUF Titans! Our classroom has been using the flexible seating chairs from the moment we received them! The students were happily surprised when they walked into our classroom one morning and the wiggly chairs were replacing our old stationary chairs at our back table. When they first saw them, they beamed with joy and they couldn't wait to use them.
My students are able to use the chairs at their desk, at the round table, at the back table, and/or during group and partner group. Students are able to get their wiggles out, but stay focused on their learning at the same time...and all of this could not have happened without your support!”

Mrs. Chavez

Funded Nov 29, 2018Your generosity and thoughtfulness means a lot to me and to my 5th grade CSUF Titans! Our classroom has been using the flexible seating chairs from the moment we received them! The students were happily surprised when they walked into our classroom one morning and the wiggly chairs were replacing our old stationary chairs at the round table. When they first saw them, they beamed with joy and they couldn't not wait to use them.
That same morning, during our morning meeting, we brainstormed ideas as a class of how and when we could use the six wiggly chairs in an equitable fashion. Students suggested that we create a class list and assign one wiggly chair per day to each student. Most students agreed that this was a fair approach, and we have been using the chairs in this manner ever since!
On their assigned day, students are able to use the chairs at their desk, at the round table, and during group and partner group. Students are able to get their wiggles out, but stay focused on their learning at the same time...and all of this could not have happened without your support!”

Funded Mar 14, 2018Wow! Thank you for funding a second project for our class! I feel so grateful to you for your generosity. The books in Spanish were a huge success in our class. They were very popular with my fifth graders because many of my students could relate to the characters in the books and to some of their struggles. Most of the books have powerful themes the reader can learn from such as family values, immigration, overcoming hardships, and most importantly...persevering in life!
Some of my students and their families have gone through similar situations and life experiences. The books you donated have provided them an opportunity to relate to reading in a more personal way, and in some cases, in their primary language. These books are a "mirror" in which they can look at themselves more deeply and know that they are not alone. Most books are a window, in which we can look at someone else life. Thank you for helping us provide a mirror, instead of a window!”

Do you know the Capital of California? New York? Utah?
Funded Mar 19, 2018I cannot thank you enough for donating this beautiful, colorful rug of the 50 states of our country. It helps our morning meeting area come alive. My students have been studying the states and capitals of our country this year, and this rug helps enhance their learning even more.
The first day I receives the rug, I placed it in our morning meeting area that same afternoon after students had gone home for the day. When my students arrived to school the next morning and entered our classroom, it was a total surprise to them! Their faces lit up with excitement and wonder. This was a very special moment for all of us... all thanks to you!
Your generosity helped touch the lives of my inquisitive, caring, and fun-loving fifth graders. Thank you for helping make a difference in my students' lives- they are the future of our tomorrow.”
