  • Screen-printing for Student Mental Health

    I want to thank you for supporting my students at Sunset Park High School. Your generosity allows my students to learn new printmaking techniques and explore the topic of mental health.

    By designing, developing, and executing a message through the format of screen-printing, students practice high level artistic behavior. Creative outlets like T-shirt designing not only empower student voices, but are tactics of self-regulation that carry far beyond their time in the classroom. Additionally, the message they wear is shared with anyone who passes by them.”

  • Art Education at Sunset Park High School

    My students are in the full swing of our semester. We are fully stocked with everything we need to create original, expressive works of art. Students have already created self portraits, murals, and more. The materials so generously donated to us will carry us confidently to the end of the year and beyond. My students can follow their creative inquiries without limitations and truly see themselves as artists.

    When students saw the new materials, they felt eager to dive right into art-making. Thanks to you, our classroom is a bustling environment of conceptualizing, strategizing, and executing projects that the students genuinely love.”

  • Block-printed Cards for Essential Healthcare Workers.

    Funded Feb 1, 2024

    Students have thoroughly enjoyed making the block-printed lego artworks. By supporting a project like ours, my students were able to try new things and express their thanks to our healthcare community. Through this technique, students practice technical skills like composition and color theory. They also practiced gratitude and community outreach.

    When students first saw the lego materials, their faces lit up. They had never used legos in this way before and dove right in to the project. Each work was creative and unique. Thank you so much for the opportunity to give my students this experience!”
