  • Exciting Books to Get Kids Talking

    Funded Feb 20, 2019

Thank you so much for bringing this project to life. The new books and materials have helped support speech therapy sessions at my school tremendously. My students with mild, moderate, and severe communication delays find joy in looking at the pictures, reading and repeating the text, and turning the pages. It has been such a pleasure to interact with my students in this way. These donated books and materials have truly made such a meaningful impact. I am grateful and blessed to have your support, as are my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lara

  • Teaching Compassion for Animals Through Play Therapy

    Funded Sep 26, 2018

On behalf of my students, thank you thank you thank you! Your donations of toys to teach compassion for animals has been a huge success with my students. The hands-on approach to learning by building animals with Legos and by seeing animals' natural homes has opened my students' eyes to the importance of animals and preserving their habitats. My students were overjoyed at having these new materials to learn and play with to enhance their lessons. So much of speech therapy is based on motivating students to improve their speech and language skills. These donations provided just the motivation they needed to stay engaged and learn in fun and innovative ways. Thank you again for your interest and for supporting this project!”

  • Sensory Fun for Students With Autism

    Funded Sep 19, 2018

I am so thankful for these new donated resources! My students and I have been having a blast using all of our new sensory materials in therapy. The theraputty was a big hit with all of my students. They were so motivated to use the materials and to stretch the putty out as far as it would go! The soft animals were the perfect surprise for my students who love to engage in pretend play. These materials have made speech therapy a more fun and engaging environment for my students. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and your interest in bringing this project to life!”

  • Creative Communication

    Funded Jun 13, 2018

I am so grateful for your support and donations which made this project come to life! I received the donated materials last week and I have already created communication binders for my most significantly impacted students. My students are able to use their laminated pictures and binders to communicate their wants and needs, to make requests, and to participate in their classroom environment.

I cannot thank you enough for your support. With your help, my students with Autism now have a functional way to express themselves and to communicate with those around them. I look forward to working with my students and finding more creative ways to enhance their school experience!”

  • Never Stop Learning

    Funded Nov 5, 2017

Thank you for your kind donations! As a result of your generosity, I have received numerous texts to enhance my knowledge of speech-language pathology. The 101 Games and Activities for autism have sparked my creativity when treating my students. The articulation books and pragmatic language activities have given me new insight into tricks and techniques to help target my students' speech and language goals. It is not easy to find the time and money to enhance your education and knowledge with a busy schedule. Your donations motivated me to make the time and to educate myself further. Thank you for helping me become a better speech therapist, and thank you on behalf of my students who will reap the benefits from these donated materials!”

  • Toys For Talking

    Funded Dec 21, 2015

    Dear Donors,

I can't thank you enough for the resources you provided for me and my students. I work tirelessly to keep my students engaged in speech and language activities over the course of the school year, and your materials helped me accomplish this mission in such a big way.

The day the packages arrived was especially exciting. The students who came into my speech room were overjoyed to see all of the brand new materials they would soon be using. It was like a big present for all of us! Over the course of several weeks, I introduced a new activity to my group, such as the fishing game or Mrs. Potatohead. The students were so excited the use fishing poles to catch magnetic fish, all the while engaging in speech and language-based tasks. Mrs. Potatohead has been especially versatile and is fun for so many ages!

Overall, I am so grateful to you for funding my project. My students have been able to use resources I otherwise would not have been able to afford. The students have made so many improvements in their speech and language abilities, and you donors have played such a large role in that! Thank you again!”

  • Time to Talk!

    Funded Dec 20, 2014

Thank you for your generous donations! My students are so happy and excited to have new materials to work with. They are more motivated than ever to come to the speech room and improve their language skills!

My students and I are using your donated resources in a play-based setting. We use the puppets to model "good speech sounds". We use the different colored balls to make requests using descriptive adjectives. We use the "Who? What? Where?" box to support visual learning and turn-taking.

This project has helped keep my speech kids motivated and ready to learn. We are all very thankful for your kind donations and interest in our project! Thank you again for supporting speech and language development in schools!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lara

I help public school students improve their speech and language skills. Some of my students work on articulation by practicing their speech sounds. Other students with Autism work on expressing their wants and needs to others. All of my "speech kids" look forward to coming to my room to see what activities I have for them each day. They are taught to work together in a group to reach their own individual goals. I hope to always keep them interested and motivated so they can achieve their goals. My personal goal is to make a meaningful difference in my students' lives!
