The way that these materials will make a difference is that the students will be able to learn to accurately express their feelings, to me as well as their families. Also, the materials will brighten up the classroom and will be visually stimulating and organized for the students to engage in their environment. My class loves being able to use sensory items while learning because it helps them focus on what is being asked of the curriculum. I truly enjoy being able to provide for my class the tools needed, like organizing their daily schedule, assistive tools for SEL learning, and overall mathematics and literacy tools. My students love to be engaged in the classroom with fun activities, but I have not been able to provide all that I want for my students for them to be able to feel safe to fail but try again. Although it is posted all over my class, I want them to be able to experience learning through touch, smell, sight, and not just words from a book. Some of these items will be able to help me supplement home learning to school learning, and that is my goal with creating a creative classroom for neuro-divergent elementary students.
