Getting various sensory supplies for our classroom sensory table is important to meet the needs of my students. The different needs of each student can be better addressed by having sensory play items such as kinetic sand, magic water marbles and foam sensory paint for them to use their senses to explore and to try to make sense of the world around them. Your donations will support language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interactions. These items will not only meet sensory needs but will also be incorporated into academic lessons. For example, when using the water play kit along with the float and find alphabet bubbles, my students will be able to identify the letters of the alphabet, while having increased participation and attending by feeling the various items and meeting their sensory needs. Preschoolers learn best when they are engaged in hands-on activities. They love to explore independently or with others. Exploration encourages communication, extending language skills and helps to increase vocabulary. They are learning to play and playing to learn.
