Hot Lunches and Organization Helps Student Learning!
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for your awesome generosity toward my fifth grade classroom. My students were in awe of how quickly our project was funded and the materials delivered. Students now have daily access to heat up their lunches when they bring a lunch from home. It has really opened up a lot of options for sack lunches that were not previously an option without a microwave readily available to them each day.
The organizational materials have given us the ability to really clean up the student center in my classroom and make materials much more accessible to my students!”

Funded Sep 24, 2021Thank you so very much for your amazing generosity that you extended toward my sweet students and my classroom. My students were absolutely out of their minds excited when the boxes arrived and we opened them together. It has really had an impact on my student's behavior and work ethic in the time since the items arrived. Student motivation has been at an all-time high in my classroom, and that is in part due to you. My students, in order to choose from the treasure box (for which you helped provide the items this year), must either provide amazing incite to our classroom discussion, show kindness to another student or adult, or go above and beyond on one of their daily assignments or projects. It has proven to be the best source of student motivation for me in the classroom. Thank you for helping me help them!”

Robots, Models, and Coding, Oh My!
Funded Dec 7, 2018Thank you so much for your continued generosity when it comes to supplying the needs that my students have in fifth grade. They have so loved the new computer science tools that you helped provide. They work hard to get their everyday classwork done so that they can have the opportunity to use the tools. It has helped them learn to slow down, pay attention to details, and most importantly, to persevere and have faith in themselves instead of always relying on a teacher to work things out or solve problems for them.”

Technology Enables Creativity
Funded Dec 29, 2018Thank you for donating to my classroom. It really has helped my students learn to persevere and be critical thinkers. They absolutely love the Tumble Trax Magnetic Marble kit. It is so fun to watch them discover how the slightest little movement of the track drastically changes the outcome of the marble's path. But the absolute best thing has to be the 3D printing pen. Students have unleashed their creativity using this pen. In the beginning it was a little hard to maneuver, but after a few weeks, they are all pros! Thank you so much for thinking of us!”

Math and Engineering Go Hand in Hand
Funded Dec 3, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity toward my fifth grade classroom. My students were so excited when they came in and saw all of the boxes! The hands-on multiplying fractions set has made it so much easier for students to actually see why you get a smaller amount when multiplying fractions, as opposed to them having to draw it out. Many students did not understand this concept before they were able to use the set that you helped to provide for them. The fraction and array boards are fantastic for allowing students to model their work. You have made such a difference in my classroom!”

WhisperPhone a Friend
Funded Nov 28, 2018Thank you so much for your continued generosity and support for my classroom. I wish you could have seen the excitement in my room when our box of whisper phones was delivered to us last week. My students could not wait to get their hands on one to try. They used them to quietly read their rough drafts about the French and Indian War to themselves during the editing and revising process. Student after student came to me and said, "Mrs. Goodrich, reading it out loud to myself really worked! I found mistakes that I didn't notice before!" Their writing is so much better, their self-confidence is better, and their motivation to improve their writing is so much better! Thank YOU!”

STEM: Paving the Way to the Future for our Students
Funded Nov 15, 2018The sheer excitement in my classroom when we were opening our box of materials that you helped supply made me so happy. As a teacher, it is sometimes hard to motivate students to learn something new. The tools that you have helped provide for my class has shot their motivation level right through the roof! They are working extra hard in class so that they can have extra time to work on computer coding using the things you provided, such as Botley the Coding Robot and the Thinkfun Circuit Maze. It's so fun that they don't even realize the important skills they are learning through their play. Thank you so much!”

Augmented Reality Books Create a Love of Reading!
Funded Nov 20, 2018My students have never been so excited to get their hands on these Augmented Reality books. They are ecstatic when it is there turn to get to check one of these books out. It has really increased their interest in reading, which is especially hard to do when we are asking them to read non-fiction material like these books!
The Go-Pro camera has opened up a whole new world for my kiddos. They are now able to create very unique book reports as opposed to just standing in front of the class and telling us about the book they read. That in itself has increased their love of reading.
Thank you so much!!!”

STEM for our Future
Funded Oct 24, 2018I cannot begin to describe the excitement I saw on my students' faces when we were opening all the new Computer Science tools that you all helped to provide for my classroom this year. Computer Science standards are new to me, and I will admit, a little overwhelming. I am learning right along with my students as we navigate this unknown territory. Having these tools (that look a lot like toys) has made it so much easier for my students (and even me) to grasp the concept of coding and realize that it isn't as scary as it sounds! Thank you so very much for your kindness!”

Coding: Preparing for the Future
Funded Aug 17, 2018Thank you so very much for your generosity toward my classroom. Our new Sphero has been a wonderful addition to our Computer Science curriculum. My learners are quickly figuring out how to code the Sphero to make it complete mazes, and have even turned it in to a competition during their recess time to see whose program can make it through the maze more quickly. It has deepened their curiosity about the world of computer programming and although it feels like play to them now, they are actually gaining valuable coding skills that will help them in the future, especially if they go into the field of computer programming. Thank you again!”

Mrs. Goodrich
