My students and I had the opportunity to use Osmos for 8 weeks as part of a special blended learning program through our school district. The Osmo was an instant hit, and I saw a huge increase in engagement. Students are able to manipulate letters, shapes, numbers and more all while interacting with the iPad. "Osmo is a technology system that bridges the physical and digital worlds by taking gameplay beyond the screen." This quote from the makers of Osmo is a perfect summary of what Osmo is, and what it does for students. The Osmo allowed for rigor and differentiation in ways that I had never dreamed, and I can't wait to have that in my classroom full time. Students are able to work alone or with a partner, and it's a low stress way to challenge themselves while having fun. I'm very excited about the new coding bundle that will allow my students even more opportunity to explore and experience the technology that will be a part of their future.
