Gracias, for helping my students have a great start of learning. They will be excited to find their materials ready to learn. Thank you from the bottom of our ❤️s.

Learning has always been an excitement for my student. They will learn in two languages and the materials are there for them because of you. Gracias.”

  • íUn Año Expectacular!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Our Kindergarten students and I want to thank you for your support with our project, "Un Año Expectacular". Having all the materials ready to start our school year was exciting. The children and I were so excited to have everything at their tables to start working in class.

We have used the pencils to write our names, short sentences and more. The crayons to color and be creative with our drawings. The scissors to create different art projects and of course the glue sticks to glue everything together. The home/school folders are a great hit because everything goes home nice and neat. The two pocket folders keep our work neat in the classroom.

The mini erasers are great incentives and the students love picking them out as well as playing with them during math as counters.

Every single material donated we are using, the stamp pads to correct the papers, the erasable markers to practice writing and erasers to start all over, the playdoh to use their imagination and create something or even make letters for their name.

It has and will be Un Año Expectacular for great learning. We are ready, thanks to you.

    Gracias

  • A New Year for Great Learning

    Funded May 26, 2021

Our Kindergarten students and us want to thank you for your support with our project, "A Great New Year for Great Learning". Having all the materials ready to start our school year was exciting. The students and parents did not have to worry not being ready for school. They were so excited to have everything at their tables to start working in class.

We have used the pencils to write our names, the crayons to color our drawings. The scissors to create different art projects and of course the glue sticks to glue everything together. The folders are a great hit because everything goes home nice and neat. We save our work so our family can see.

The bins for their personal space to keep their books and journals in one place also was a great hit.

The children and us appreciate your donations to our project. This has been a great beginning of the year for all of us. We did not have to go and buy materials because you helped us as much as the students.

It has and will be a great year for great learning. We are ready thanks to you.

  • Let's Learn In Two, At Home and In School

    Funded Sep 13, 2020

My students and I want to thank you for your support with our "Lets Learn In Two, At Home and In School". Having all the supplies ready to start our virtual school year was exciting. The students and parents were so excited to have everything to begin this new way of learning.

We used the plastic folders to put all the necessary packets for the month. The wipe boards and dry erase markers help us practice writing our names, numbers and letters. Having the crayons, pencils and glue sticks at hand to create outstanding art projects and good writing is phenomenal.

The children, the parents and I appreciate your donations to our project. It has been a great beginning for all of us. The parents did not have to go out in this pandemic and buy school supplies because you did it for them and their children. So grateful.

It has been and will be an exceptional year. We are virtually ready, thanks to you.

    God Bless.”

    With gratitude,

  • A Magic Carpet and Seat Pockets

    Funded Nov 22, 2018

Thank you for funding our Magic Carpet and seat pockets.

When the children came to school, after Christmas vacation, I told them I had a surprise for them. We opened and rolled out the rug and their faces light up. "It is so colorful and it has words in both languages", someone said. They helped me put it in a space where they will use it as their writing spot and also to sit for the smart board interaction. They have a colorful and new rug to sit and enjoy.

When I opened the seat pockets they all received one. They each took it and put it on their chairs. They were saying the ones they had were broken and now they have new ones. One student said,"Mrs Barrios the room looks nice with our new rug and seat pockets".I responded," thank you to a lady named Vickie and others who donated to our Donors Choose.". Now the children put their writing journal in the pocket so they have it handy when needed. Also, they put their seat work in the pocket so everything is right at their hands when needed.

From the bottom of our hearts GRACIAS for your contribution.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barrios

My Students My students are my children. They have come from all around the world, from many different and often difficult situations. They come from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common, they come to learn. I work in a large school with a very high immigrant population located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. My Projects We are in need of a classroom rug, this rug will be a place where we learn and grow together. It is where most of our learning will take place! Also, seat pockets to help them keep their books and folders organized and neat. Finally, leveled reading books. My students are diverse in every way; especially in their reading levels. Having more fiction and nonfiction texts available will help promote reading and make it more engaging for my students. I want to give them a great start. Thank you, Gracias for considering this project! My students and I thank you for helping our classroom!
