Acting Out Abiyoyo
Funded Dec 8, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity and helping to bring this project to life. Abiyoyo has been one of my students' favorite books this year and got the opportunity to act out the story during a partnership with a local organization. With this project we were able to provide every student with a copy of the book to take come and continue their enjoyment of the story.
We were also able to put copies of the book in our classroom library. Having the stories there prompted students to make puppets and props to act out the story on their own. They also drew pictures and extended the story.
Thank you again for your generosity and commitment to the education of our youngest learners. We always say it takes a village to raise a Malcolm X. Thank you for being part of our village.”

Full STEM Ahead
Funded Oct 6, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity and commitment to education for our youngest learners. As we have moved through our units of study this year, the students have been having a blast using the STEM kits to retell familiar stories and to test out their engineer skills. The students are currently using The Three Little Pigs kit and working to build different houses to "huff and puff" to try and blow them down. It has gone such a long way to enhance our Discovery Center as well as to develop our students problem solving skills.
Thank you again so much for your support and generosity. Without you, we would not be able to provide these STEM kits to our students. We always say "It takes a village to raise a Malcolm X." Thank you for being part of our village.”

Funded Sep 12, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity and support of this project. These materials have gone such a long way in helping to change children and keep them clean and healthy. We have been able to use the gloves to change children multiple times a day and use the paper towels to clean up accidents. These materials combined with the ones we already have, have helped to maintain a clean and healthy learning environment.
Thank you again for your generosity and support. Without you, we would not have been able to provide these supplies to help our students.”

Funded Sep 8, 2023Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Those words are not enough to express how deeply grateful I am for your support to fund this project. These materials have helped to further students communication and engagement, for 2 student in particular. These two students started the school year speaking using gestures and 1 word. They now, through sign language and 3-4 word statements, are able to communicate their wants and needs. With the sensory materials, they are also able to engage in play that will allow for an adult to sit with them and hold conversations about what they are working on and everyday life.
Thank you again. You have helped to foster these students communication skills which has helped them to become part of the classroom community and family.”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for your support and generosity. This morning meeting organizer for the rug has been so helpful in helping to get us organized during our whole group meeting time. We have been able to use the magnetic side to put up our letters as well as practice writing them. We have been able to spin it around to the felt side so we can tell and retell felt board stories. It has also been extremely helpful getting our electronics for playing music up out of the reach of the children.
Thank you again so much for your support and generosity. This would not have been possible without you. With the organization this unit has provided, it has allowed us more time to engage in instruction and further student learning.”

Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you so much for your support and generosity in helping to fund our new sand and water tables. Having the two separate bins has helped to keep things organized and separate for students while also helping to keep germs to a minimum. Not only have we been able to use the table for sand and water, we have been able to fill it with a variety of other sensory materials too. During our tree unit, we filled the bins with leaves and twigs and during our clothing unit, we filled it with fabric scraps and ribbons. The students favorite thing to keep in the table these days is construction paper they can cut and tear to make artwork.
Thank you again for your support and generosity to our classroom. We always say it takes a village to raise a Malcolm X, thank you for being part of our village.”

Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you so much for your support and generosity to our classroom. This paper has gone such a long way, not just in providing communication to families and sprucing up the classroom, but it also allowed for us to provide bright and vibrant end of the year certificates for our students.
