Tapping the Beat on my Tenor
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you all so much for your generosity and support of our drum line. Students have been practicing daily for upcoming spring performances and more and more mallets were beginning to exceed their life span. When the new mallets arrived, students immediately began to practice with them and were able to use them at a school pep rally to get students fired up for their upcoming standardized test.
When students first saw the new mallets, they were so excited they had arrived in time for them to use them for the spring pep rally where they could show them off to the entire student body. Students were even more excited about the new mallets when they realized they would not have to share and take turns practicing and performing because there were now enough mallets for everyone.
Thank you all again so much for your support and generosity. Our drum line is funded solely through the generosity of people like yourselves and Donors Choose. Thanks to all of you and Donors Choose, we can continue to fund our drum line and help provide our students with a musical future.”

Funded Dec 6, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity and helping to fund this project for our drum line. With this project, we were able to get two of our bass drums back up and running for students to practice and perform on. The first thing our bass drummers did when they received the drum heads was to replace the broken ones. They took great pride and care in changing the drum heads out and have been so cautious with how they are playing and treating their drums because they do not want to break the new ones.
Students were so excited when they first saw the new materials because they knew the new drum heads would help to make them sound even better than they already do. Students swore they could hear the difference when the whole line played just because of the new drum heads. Students also played with a greater sense of pride because of these new drum heads.
Thank you all again so much for your support and generosity. Our drum line is funded solely through the generosity of people like yourselves and Donors Choose. Thanks to all of you and Donors Choose, we can continue to fund our drum line and help provide our students with a musical future.”

Drum Sticks of Success
Funded Oct 16, 2017Thank you so much for helping to support our school drum line. As soon as the package arrived, students began to use the new drum sticks and get rid of the old wore ones. Some students even took to taking the old ones home so they could practice on buckets and other things when they weren't able to practice on the drums.
When students first saw the new drum sticks they couldn't believe all the drum sticks were being replaced. They were so used to the old, beaten up ones they couldn't believe they were actually receiving brand new sticks. A few students even took to naming and personalizing their sticks so they would know exactly which ones were theirs.
Thank you all again so much for your support and generosity. Our drum line is funded solely through the generosity of people like yourselves and Donors Choose. Without you, we could not continue to fund our drum line and help provide our students with a musical future.”

Drumming the Beat of Our Future
Funded Dec 25, 2017Thank you so much for your support and generosity in supporting our drum line. Our students are so lucky to have people like yourselves who care about their future and success. The students were thrilled when they received the new drum heads and as always, took great pride in helping to replace the broken ones. With these new drum heads, we were able to provide 2 more students with the opportunity to participate in the latest performance because their drums had been fixed.
When students first received the new materials they were so excited to see what new materials they had received. The two students who were able to begin playing again on a regular basis because of these materials were also so elated they would be able to play again on a regular basis.
Thank you all again so much for your support and generosity. Our drum line is funded solely through the generosity of people like yourselves and Donors Choose. Thanks to all of you and Donors Choose, we can continue to fund our drum line and help provide our students with a musical future.”

Keeping it Up Beat, One Beat at a Time
Funded Dec 5, 2017Thank you so much for your support of our drum line and helping to provide new drum heads for our 3 tenor drums. Students were so excited to receive these new drum heads and as always took great pride and joy in changing out the drum heads.
When the students first saw the new drum heads, they were extremely excited they had arrived in time for them to put on the drums for an upcoming parade they were marching in. They were confident the new drum heads would make them sound better then any of the other bands and drum lines in the parade.
Thank you again so much for your support. We are only able to provide this drum line opportunity to our students through the generous donations we receive on Donors Choose and would not be able to do it without you.”

We're All About the Bass
Funded Nov 15, 2017Thank you so much for your support and donations to help make our drum line program a possibility for our students. Every year, there seems to be less and less money for extra curricular and music programs. Our students and school rely solely on the support and generosity of donors on Donors Choose to make our program a possibility for students.
The students had so much fun getting to change the drum heads out and getting to practice on the new ones. Practice ran late that day because no one wanted to stop playing. We were also able to put two of the drums back in the drum line for 2 students because we had drum heads to replace the broken ones.
Thank you again so much for your support and helping to make drum line a possibility for our students.”

We're All About That Bass Drum
Funded Sep 21, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our drum line program. As seems to be the national trend, there is rarely any money in school budgets anymore for extra curricular programs, including music. As I've shared, we rely sole on the support and generosity of people like yourself to keep our program running so we can provide our students with a positive activity that can carry them through high school.
The students were so excited to get the new drum heads for the bass drums and took great pride in learning how to change the drum heads themselves. Our students who play bass didn't want to go home that evening because they were so excited about their new drum heads and wanted to continue practice for an upcoming performance.
Thank you so much for your support and helping to provide this opportunity for our students who otherwise would not be able to participate in a music program.”

Storing Our Clothes for Success
Funded Sep 7, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our classroom project to help us keep our clothes for success organized and visible. This storage unit has had additional benefits than just allowing parents to see if their child had a changes of clothes or not. This unit as also helped students to take responsibility for their personal hygiene as well. While not shown in the pictures for privacy reasons, each student has their name and picture on their bucket so they are able to quickly find it when necessary. They are then able to get out the needed items and head directly into the bathroom to change.
When the students first saw the new shelf they were so excited to see their pictures on the buckets and their own personal spot to store their stuff. They have also started taking joy in checking their buckets each day to make sure they have their change of clothes and reminding their parents if they need another one. They were even more excited I think to see the huge box the shelf had come in.
Once we got the new shelf all situated and stocked with their clothes, we began to brainstorm what to do with this fantastic huge box the shelf had come in. Since we use a play based curriculum that requires us to built props for play, we were able to turn the box into a shower for our science/bathroom center and two cars for our blocks/garage center.
Thank you all again so much for your support and dedication to our classroom. We could not have done it without you.”

Funded Jan 15, 2017Thank you so much for your support in our school wide positive behavior intervention system. With your support, we were able to provide incentives for over 250 students to show SOAR behavior at our school and work towards incentives.
Our PK3 through 2nd grade students were really excited about these incentives and were able to work towards earning them each month. The girls loved the slap bracelets and the boys loved the airplanes. And our entire school was excited about the finger lights and could not wait to try them out. Almost all of them were so excited they had earned these items, or perhaps even 2 or 3 items and could take them home with them.
Thank you again for your support of our students and school.”

Mrs. Snodgrass
