  • Basic Needs for Students!

    Funded May 7, 2024

Students were so happy to receive their school supplies from our funded project. Our school is a Title 1 school so most of our students do not have the means to buy school supplies. Thanks to Donorschoose and our wonderful Donors our students were able to receive school supplies at the beginning, middle and end of the school year.

By December, most of the school supplies are used up or almost used up. Again, parents cannot buy the extra supplies the students need to replenish the used ones. But once again, DonorsChoose and our awesome Donors come to our rescue. Having basic school supplies throughout the entire school year is critical for their success academically as well as socially. All students have equal opportunities since they all have the same school supplies.

With cold and flu season, we had run out of Kleenex and Lysol wipes, so this donation was critical. Now each child will have their own Kleenex box again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pazos

  • Restocking The "A" In STEAM!

    Funded Jan 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity! The students were so excited when the boxes arrived. We started using the materials right away! We already used the adhesive tape to glue the cup to the catapults they made for STEAM. Many of the students do not have the means to buy all the materials they need to complete their STEAM projects, so your donations are crucial!

Thanks to these donated materials, the students will be able to make their End of the Year canvas project to remember their elementary school days! They paint the canvas and then glue their school picture on it. The students will also make snow globe as Mother's Day presents.

Once again, thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pazos

  • Getting Ready for the School Year!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Students were so happy to receive their school supplies from our funded project. Our school is a Title 1 school so most of our students do not have the means to buy school supplies. Since all the students have the same school supplies needed, no one feels left out or not having enough. The students can continue learning and working to achieve their full potential.”

  • End of the Year STEAM Books Party

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! The students and I are beyond happy with the funding of our books. We cannot wait to have our reading party, give our oral reports, and the best part, dressing up as the character in the book's biography. After all the learning and testing, the students deserve a fun "learning" activity that will help them ease into summer. Integrating social studies, Science, and math and even art with reading has made learning so much more interesting. Again, thank you for your generosity!”

  • Completing the A in STEAM

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity! The students and I were extremely happy when our project was so quickly funded! We were able to use the materials to make our "Trapped in a Snow Globe" winter STEAM activity! The students were super excited that we had all the materials ready and available for this activity and the many others planned for the rest of the year. Many of the students do not have the means to buy a lot of the extra STEAM project materials. Having the materials on hand for all the students empowers equality and a great sense of pride in all the students. Thank you for your generosity!”

  • A STEAM School Edible Garden

    Funded Sep 23, 2022

Words can not express how happy the students and I were when our edible garden items arrived. The students could not wait to start planting the seeds and starting the garden. Many of the students live in apartment buildings so they do not have their own yards or gardens. Learning that a garden can be planted on a balcony or small space using vertical planters really made an impact on them. These students ralized they could grow their own herbs and vegetables, too. We can not wait for our garden to produce vegetables and herbs for us to harvest and eventually eat them! Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • The "A" IN STEAM

    Funded Jul 29, 2022

This has been an amazing project and we are so grateful for your generosity. Since day one, we have been using materials funded in this project. I was able to print ID tags for the first day of class. With the craft sticks, I use a How Are You Feeling Today daily activity. Each student has a craft stick with their name and they place it according to their feeling each morning. The students were super excited to use the silver sharpies to create stars on their Rotation of the Earth science activity. They can not wait to use the craft sticks again in December to make a STEAM Science sleds for Force and Motion project and to paint on the canvas for another STEAM project and Mother's Day Activity. We are having fun while learning. These are best types of lesson! Thank you again”

  • Math is Everything!

    Funded Jun 23, 2022

The students and I are beyond grateful for your generosity. When the students arrived for this school year, I had the math manipulative materials I needed to help them with the math concepts. We were able to use the fraction magnet tiles immediately. The students really enjoyed working with hands on concepts as well as with written work. They are very excited to start using the graph chart and the mini magnetic graphing charts. The students will be able to graph information for the science experiments and for math data plotting. It will be a year filled with amazing math lessons!”

  • Being Ready Equals Success!

    Funded May 17, 2022

The first day of class every student had an agenda to copy down their homework, special events, and/or important information as well as a parent communicator. They also had a treat bag with pencils, glue, highlighters and extra treats to help them during the school year. The binders and dividers will help the students keep their work and assignments organized and easy to access. With all the materials they need for the new school, students already have a head start! The students were beyond excited with all the materials they received, especially those students who knew their parents could not afford their supplies.”

My students go to a public elementary school in Florida. We are a Title 1 school, as a majority of the students are on free or reduced lunch. A large population of our students are ESOL 1 so they are non- English or limited English speakers. Although our school is predominately Hispanic, we do have students from many non-Hispanic countries. All of them are, however, very eager to learn and explore the scientific world.
